As per the title this review is about the superior side of the hotel. My family and I had two excellent spacious rooms with adequate kitchenette. Rooms were clean and beds big. The pool is big and clean. The baby pool is also perfect. Cafe bar has a small selection of food and many drinks but we preferred to eat out. Hotel is ten min walk through cobbled streets to the village square, or you can walk down the main road towards the village gas station to avoid the cobbles! Bakery, restaurant (malhala) and couple of little shops very close by.

What makes this hotel stand out is the excellent customer service. All the staff were friendly and helpful. My little boy loved the affection he got from the staff.

Breakfast is basic and no equipment to keep eggs warm which is a shame. There's a coffee machine which I really liked.

My only constructive criticism would be that 1 baby high chair for the whole of the superior and classic hotels isn't enough. I would expect a hotel of this size to have at least two.

We would definitely return here.

We (couple 50+) just returned from Theofilos Hotel at Pétra, Lesbos and had great stay at these premises. We stayed in a very nice specious studio (incl. kitchenette) at the Apolo building of Theofilos Superior. Initially we booked a double room at the Classic hotel but changed it to Superior upfront after I mailed the hotel for an upgrade. We got a very prompt reply from the friendly manager Dimitris (who speaks Dutch as well!) that we could have the upgrade to Superior for a modest surcharge that we paid after arrival. We didn't regret it! The Superior rooms/apts are really very nice. We checked the Classic rooms as well; they are smaller, have a bit dated furniture but really good beds and also have AC. However, for a modest surcharge you will have much more comfort at the Superior. Staff is very very friendly and make you feel most welcome. The lady at the Superior poolbar (Wula) is a true sweetheart and makes delicious dishes for very modest prices. We had lunch with her almost every day of our stay and she always did her utmost to serve us delicious food. Half a liter of good white housewine will cost you Euro 3,50......Housekeeping is very friendly and professional as well, fresh towels every day and daily cleaning service (except Sundays). Beds are very good, we had good sleeps every night and the AC works perfectly. Bathroom was OK as well, always plenty of hot water, and enough space. Both pools at Classic and Superior are very clean and so are the surroundings at the pools. Breakfast is good, plenty of choices and fresh baked eggs, scrambled eggs, cheeses, ham, melon, Greek yoghurt, cereals, French toast (baked the Greek way, very nice if you eat them with a bit of honey or jam), cakes. The only thing we didn't like was the coffee at breakfast (too weak and too salty to our taste) but Wula at the poolbar makes very nice (iced) coffees for a modest price. However, we advice the management to place a coffee or nespresso machine in the breakfast area that makes cappuccino, espresso etc. (against a charge for instance 2 Euro, I'm sure that many Dutch will use it). Distance to the seaside and the center of Pétra is a 8 minute walk only. Nearest ATM about 12/14 minutes walk. The walk to the center of Pétra is a pleasant occasion through some picturesque Greek streets/alleys. However, not so suitable for people that cannot walk properly due to the rugged and uneven pavement of the streets/alleys, but we enjoyed every walk to/from the center. Most of the Island population will greet you in a very friendly way. They truly appreciate if you greet them in their own language ("kali mera" during the day, "kali spera" after 5pm and "kali nighta" when you wish them good night). In Pétra you will find many nice restaurants, bars, terraces all against very modest prices. Our favorite restaurant (we went there 3 times!) was the Mermaid restaurant at the end of the boulevard (seaside). It's easy to find, when you walk down to the seaside then turn right at the sea and keep on walking for about 10/15 minutes and you will find the Mermaid (family)restaurant on you left at the seaside. Really fantastic (fish) food (ask for the catch of the day). Their red mullet together with their special rice (made by "la Mama" herself) is HEAVEN!. Prices are less then half the price we would pay for the same food in Holland and their white housewine is served for a price you would pay for a bottle of mineral water in any Dutch restaurant. Last but not least, the media did a lot of negative publications regarding the island of Lesbos (inconvenience due to fugitives) and this did hit their economy very hard. However, during our whole stay at Pétra and the tours we made to other villages we have not seen a single fugitive! We will certainly come back to Pétra AND to Theofilos Hotel. A big "thank you" to Dimitris, Wula, all friendly staff at Theofilos and to all nice Lesbos people who made our stay a most pleasant occasion!

Room Tip: Room 251 & 252 in the Apolo building (superior) are great. Have two balconies (front and back) so you always have place with/without sun.

We go for trip with our kids team and we reserved this hotel. In the site it looks nice but there is a trap........ Behind the photos you see of the new hotel with pool and nice colors there is another part of the very old hotel. It has a pool with no water and the building must be 40-50 years old . The rooms was very dirty the blankets have hair on them ,we have no hot water (they fixed later) ,in other rooms there is only hot water and no cold water. The food was not good and the coffee terrible. It was the worst hotel I ever been in my life....Real sorry for them ....

Room Tip: Don't stay there . If you have to stay only in the new building

Just spent two nights at the hotel and really enjoyed it. Got up in the mornings, went down to the gym, straight into the spa and to the restaurant area for a traditional/local breakie with my wife. Superb!!!! Traveled around the island during the day and I must say Petra and Molyvos is by far the best part of Lesbos. Loved the hotel with its modern rooms and the island. Will be spending a few more days in Plomari and Mytilini before heading back home.

We stayed in the new part of the hotel. We ask to upgrade from the old cheaper part of the hotel. The rooms in the older part of the hotel are good but don't accomadate 4 people so we ask if we could upgrade so my sister, her children and myself could stay in one place. It wasn't expensive and it was definitely worth it. The apartament was fantastic. Great room, nice breakfast. Friendly staff doing everything to make your stay comfortable.
