We have just spent ten days here and could not recommend it more highly. The staff are so helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Glynnis and her husband, the owners are so friendly and accommodating we could not have wished for better. The apartments are cleaned every day except Sunday and the pool is always clean. We were made to feel like one big family with all the other guests that were staying there. It is fabulous for children and couples alike. We have to mention Caroline who is chief cook and bottle washer! She is a lovely person and made our holiday so special. We would most definitely go back it was one of our best holidays. Thank you so much.

We had a wonderful holiday and could not recommend it more highly. We had a great 2 weeks spending many hours in but also exploring Rhodes sites and the excellent nearby beaches. The Hotel is family run enterprise with only a few staff who are kind and bubbly and who make you feel so much at home nice atmosphere . Its clean and very well equipped and has a fantastic pool. Stamati and Glynis are just a gem helpful and kind to their guests no matter what the circumstances. We will be back for another holiday Anixis is the place to be.

We booked 2 weeks in a 2 bed apartment the extra bedroom for our 10yr old twins. We just returned a couple of days ago. After I booked I read a couple of comments on Trip Advisor that made me worry what I was letting myself in for, as they were very negative and bemoaning regulars in a rather uncomplimentary way. It made out that the good reviews were written by the regulars. Well I am not a regular but I'd be more than happy to return. I can only think that whoever wrote the negative comments was a bit of a misery with a tattoo phobia. I met some people who were regular visitors, retired teachers, very nice people as were their group of friends who joined them later. There was no special treatment or any sense of they owned the place, Just ordinary, polite respectable, professional people.

Another family arrived who had celebrated significant birthdays at the hotel over the years and this time they were back for a wedding. Again, all very quiet and friendly. It was suggested that "the regulars" wrote the good reviews about the staff and owners being so lovely. Well we had never met the staff before but I can confirm that the owner Glynis and Caroline who runs the bar and kitchen were lovely. Friendly, chatty, helpful and genuine.

The rooms were spacious very clean, the fixtures and fittings all in perfect working order. The room was cleaned daily by some lovely friendly ladies. The kitchen/diner had a full size fridge dining table and chairs and a simple but effective 2 ring electric hob cooker which was adequate. We did get one towel with a small hole in one day but a quick call to the British Consulate and we had Glynis arrested. No sign of cockroaches anywhere although we did have one green coloured shield bug that would fly in through the open window every evening, check on us and leave. The grounds were spacious and the pool was a good size and never too busy.

There is a Greek night once a week with some nice food and some lovely friendly dancers. What was so nice about the dancers is that they took time to teach the steps to anyone who wanted to join in. It was done properly, which makes a change from those who just drag people up to make them look silly. At night time the bar which is run by a mature friendly Greek chap was never very crowded, so if your idea of a holiday is getting sloshed to a funky beat and necking stupidly named cocktails until you are sick, this ISN'T the place for you. It was on the whole a quiet civilised bar. Okay there is also a Karaoke Night once a week, but again, a fairly quiet affair and finishes before 1.00am which is perfectly reasonable. It's not my thing but blimey, people are on holiday so who would begrudge them having a bit of fun. It really didn't disturb our kids or keep them awake, despite us having our doors and windows open.

The bar food was good, simple, nothing fancy but well done and a tribute to Caroline, who could do with a bigger ventilated kitchen.

As for the location, well that was great. Again it depends on the type of holiday you want. The Anixis is about 10mins walk from the Lalysoss beach where you can just relax, swim or walk up a bit and do jet skis or take out a boat. A few yards up the road on the opposite side is a garage with a pathway that takes you down to the beach but try out the Pool bar called AREA BLUE. That is lovely. A little oasis of palm trees, a big pool with swim up bar. a poolside snack service and drinks and food at reasonable prices. The added bonus is a large lawn with free sunbeds and bedsized beanbags spread out. And from the lawn you can step right onto the beach. A great spot and so close to Anixis, it made things just perfect.

Speaking of perfect, just up the road from Area Blue is the best place to eat if you want quality and cheap prices. It's called Mr Greek, Google it or look him up on his facebook page. The photos and comments don't lie. George (AKA Mr Greek) is a genuine nice guy and you could see that the people using his café absolutely loved him. He has a good philosophy. Make enough to pay bills and rent and be able to put some aside, so why charge people silly prices, he said he wants everyone to be able to afford to have a meal out and knows it's difficult for some people with kids or on a budget. There are other good places , like Zorbas and Whispers (the latter next door to the Anixis but Mr Greek is such a lovely man, you'll want to go back. Totally welcoming.

Further down towards Lalysos on the same road is Holidays Essential which is great for booking days out and very cheap compared to some places. We used them to go to Lindos, Valley Of the Butterflies (moths) and a day long boat trip to the nearby island of Symi, which was a delight.

The bus to Rhodes Town stops right outside the Anixis and costs 2Euro or you can take a taxi for about 12Euro. The bus is every 15 minutes. From there you can get a bus anywhere. Go to Lindos yourself, or go to Falirake for the sandy beaches or the water park or anywhere else that takes your fancy. If you do go into Rhodes Town, watch out for the lovely man who entices you into the bar near the clock tower, who asks if you want a large beer. Most people think that means a pint rather than a half. Well not in this case. It means a larger than life-size Wellington Boot shaped glass with a ridiculous amount of beer in it. I doubt anyone finishes it, unless they stay all day and most is probably poured away. But it'll cost you about 20 Euro if you are daft enough to let them get away with it. Tell him to sod off or just walk out. We saw several people sitting there, glum faced looking at this bucket a horse couldn't finish.

So all in all, don't believe everything you read...a[art from this. Anixis was a lovely hotel, full of decent people and very nice mature, helpful and respectful staff and owners, plus they have their own supermarket which has many of the home comforts and some lovely fresh fruit and veg if you can't be bothered to walk the five minutes up the road to the big chain supermarket.

We were hoping the Icelandic volcano was going to blow and ground air travel, so we could stay longer. It was great value for money and one of the most pleasant relaxed holidays I can remember.

I stayed with my kids at this hotel was a last minute booking. Hotel is basic rooms cleaned each day except Sunday. However the bed linen was filthy not changed in 2 weeks ! Towels were old and full of holes ! The hotel had cockroaches and my daughter even had one crawl into her bra ! The pool was good, kids enjoyed it. Location was neat the beach but very noisy, the main road was loud and hard to cross . Next doors hotel was loud too. So if you want quiet this is not the place . That said, we met some fantastic people in the 2 weeks and they made it a memorable holiday
