Tremendous food
With exceptional service

2 x starters to share
Nacho to share ( a few jalapeno would be nice )
But extremely well done
Chicken and scampi and onion rings to die for
Fillet steak and rib eye steak
Cooked to perfection
Pepper corn sauce . Wow. Amazing

The service was only out shined by the quality of the food.
A lovely setting.
We going back next week.
No food cooked on Monday.

This pub was established in 1605 so for me that is a treat to start. The food was very nice, but one vegetarian meal offered. I can't use the word option as the only option was not to eat at all. What we had though was very nice. I would say this was good value for money. We had a lunch but the atmosphere was fat too dead for us, but as we were leaving some more people came. Very good and attentive waiting staff. Has some low doors naturally so take care. It's age too I expect is the reason for steps up and unevenly spaced steps to the loo, so I would say you have to have good mobility. The loo could have some attention, it would be easy enough to screw the loo roll holder to the wall I would think. Lovely pub though. I would imagine we would re visit.

We enjoyed a fabulous imprompt evening out here with friends in March. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bill was also a pleasant surprise - excellent value for money. Definitely worth a visit!

This is the second review I have done for this pub, however the first was for a bar meal on a Saturday (which was excellent) whereas this one is for a Sunday dinner. A group of four of us attended on a Sunday afternoon. For starters we have the chicken goujons and garlic mushrooms, both of which were lovely, and then for mains three of us had the beef, and the fourth had the fish option. The beef dinner was lovely - a proper thick cut of beef with homemade Yorkshire puddings. The fish option was also great - really tender and great flavour. Service was great too. Would defiantly go back for a roast dinner!
