We arrived at 2pm to find this restaurant totally empty, a far cry from what we'd expected from the euphoric reviews. Perhaps this reflects its current standard. I hate to strike a discordant note, but the moderately-priced food (baked shoulder of lamb) was grossly overcooked, and the service was less than indifferent – it was notably inattentive. With any restaurant, it's a fair question to ask, 'Would you go again or recommend it to others?' and in my case, the answer is 'Definitely not – they need to lift their game.' If this is the best to be expected from Greek food, thank heavens the Vietnamese have arrived in force in the locality. Incidentally, the wine is far too expensive.

Started with sampler platter of dips and a bottle of house bubbly. Ordered from the specials menu. Stuffed pepper and vegetables and mixed slavaki with salad and potatoes. Both dishes were excellent. Only little hiccup was dips came sans pita bread which had to be ordered separate.

Absolutely delectable dishes are being served here in Melbourne's finest Greek restaurant, Agapi in Swan Street. The Pita bread has already been served - within minutes of my arrival - and was as sumptuous as ever. The King George Whiting followed at a respectable interval afterwards, and was, as usual, absolutely divine. Too hot today for the open log fire, but the ambience is just as delightful.

Taken here by good neighbours and they ordered as they come here frequently - so that says something, Plenty of good food and of course we ate most of the traditional goodies like first the dips, fried cheese etc and then meat platter. I want to go back and try some of the other dishes now like Moussaka yum, looking forward to visiting this place again
