A little gem of a boutique B&B right on the promenade overlooking the sea which made for a very pleasant change from all the busy impersonal hotels that I live out of with work! The owners Mary and Franck are delightful and their English is far far better than our French! 5 rooms, the first night we had one of the doubles overlooking the courtyard which was very comfortable and quiet, the second night, Mary and Franck very kindly let us move to one of their rooms overlooking the sea and yes, our favourite and the one we will book next time. A substantial continental breakfast is provided, no room for lunch and niceties of complimentary wine and water in the room. Parking is not a problem as there is off street parking just around the corner at no charge and plenty of restaurants in Wimereux to enjoy the lovely seafood. A most enjoyable short break 14-16 April Many thanks Mary and Franck. Jo and Alan Rowlands

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the Seaview Rooms

We had a fantastic time in La Goelette. Very pampered. Lovely bedroom, very quiet. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us. Great location obviously on the sea front (very handy to go and have a meal in the unmissable l'Atlantique). And the breakfast was top: local cheese, smoked salmon, cured ham, homemade jams and brioches and croissants galore. Mary and Frank are really great hosts. Truly relaxing stay.

Very warm welcome by the owner, modern rooms with charm and original decoration, superb location at the beach and an excellent breakfast. Everything perfect for very reasonable rates! Why stay in a hotel if there are such charming b&b's?

We have not stayed in many Chambres d'Hotes in France, opting usually for a nice hotel. After a night in La Goelette I have to say I am now a total convert!! A beautiful big old French house, right on the seafront, full of character and charm. The hosts, Mary and Franck, have managed to mix antique and modern to the most perfect effect, with scrubbed wooden floors and comfy sofas. The bed was deliciously comfortable with crisp white linen, and the bedroom warm and cozy with water, wine, and tea/coffee making equipment. Breakfast, with sea view, included everything one could possibly want (the chocolate bread was my favourite!). You are staying in the most sophisticated home where your friendly and professional hosts leave nothing to chance. Do not pass this little gem by!

Room Tip: We were in the butterfly room. Lovely!

We stood before a closed door, in the dark and the cold, despite having a confirmed reservation by email.
the host were not there and we understand and accept they couldn't help it.
BUT instead of warning us or sending some one to give us the info or let us in or even to apologise, they claimed we did nog make a reservation.
as it was late, our children who looked forward to the nice rooms (with butterfly's) were tired and cold, we had to get back in our car to drive several 100 km's to go back home.
I will not express myself on the rooms, breakfast or other ammenities but i think it is very poor service to claim a room was not booked, when indeed it was booked, instead of looking for a solutions or giving an apology.
