We had booked the room La Paresse on the front of the house, overlooking the bay for two nights. The personnel was very kind and helpful. The room is nicely decorated with a very large bed and a liseuse with the fantastic view to the beach and the sea. Only drawback : it is an old house and we had a kid upstairs sometimes running around. But it was not extreme anyway. The breakfast buffet is rather nice, excellent bread and croissants. Good fresh orange juice. The rooms at the front are really the ones to choose otherwise you have a (cheaper) room overlooking the patio but it is a pity to go to Wimereux and not enjoy the sea. You must pay cash or by bank transfer in advance.

Franck warmly welcomed us. We had to phone him to come to the door as he doesn't live at the B and B. He came within two minutes.
We had the Rêve room which is also called The Butterfly room. It was on the second floor, narrow stairs, no lift. From the window we were looking at three walls but the room was quiet. The walls, the floor, the window sills are painted black apart from one wall which has wallpaper with butterflies on a black background. It was like being inside a chocolate box!
There was a good shower and separate toilet.
We had bottled water, half a bottle of wine free in the room and tea and coffee facilities, fruit was available in the breakfast room.
Breakfast was generous, large cafetière, bread, croissants, smoked salmon, cheese, eggs, freshly squeeze orange juice.
If we decide to go back, we will definitely try to book earlier so we can have a room with a view. We were too late this time.

Room Tip: front room with sea view

If you're looking for a great place for a long weekend break - this is perfect. Wimereux is a short drive from Calais (take the coastal route, not the motorway - it's stunning). From the hotel, it is just a stroll across the promenade to the glorious beach. We had the sea view room which was gorgeous. Huge windows looking out to sea and falling asleep with the sound of the waves. Perfect. Mary Avot was a wonderful hostess - very welcoming and full of useful advice and guidance about the town, restaurants and walks. The breakfast was amazing - the best I've had anywhere. We will definitely return and I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: The two sea view rooms are more expensive, but they are larger, have king size beds and a view that is perfect.

We travelled with our two teenagers for a two night stay at this wonderful B&B. We received a warm welcome from the owner Mary who went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Our room on the first floor was called Paresse, it had a spectacular sea view, we loved the decor and the chairs placed to enjoy the beach below, one of which was a chaise longue which felt very indulgent to lie on! Breakfast was delicious: fresh orange juice, a variety of breads, cheeses, fruit, ham, salmon, cereals and more than we could have wished for! A perfect break, we will be back!

Room Tip: Recommend rooms with a sea view

We stayed here for 2 nights (Only got back yesterday) and couldn't wait to write my review. Where do I start? La Goelette is brilliant on so many levels. The owner, Franck is so attentive and proud of the service he gives. The place is spotless and the breakfast - Oh the breakfast! Not for us the cup of coffee and a croissant! Cereals, assorted breads, many cheeses, cured meats, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, freshly, just pressed orage juice, yoghurts all laid out on a groaning breakfast buffet table waiting for you to choose whatever takes your fancy. Coffee or tea (and Franck knows what his English patrons want in the way of tea) He even has a kettle and tea/coffee facilities in the bedrooms. ( I did say he knows his English guest requirements so well) There was also a boiled egg, poached egg on offer but we just couldn't eat anymore. the room we had was up some very steep stairs at the top which would be daunting for anyone with mobility issues but it does warn about this in the information. Also there are other rooms available that don't have this climb. Having said that the bedroom was compact, however very comfortable and the bathroom was a dream. Wimereaux is lovely and if you want mussels go to the JFK restaurant because they serve the best mussels with cream we have ever had. If you are visitng Wimereaux try to go to Franck's. He even insits on fresh towels every day! What a complete treasure.

Room Tip: If you don't mind small and steep stairs choose the upstairs room but there are other rooms available.
