My Colleagues and I went to Greece for business in July 2010 and we had 5 days free to spend in the famous Santorini, We stayed at Astra for 4 nights.
No doubt that Santorini is the most beautiful place in Greece and the Astra Suites make it even better.
From Astra, you get a breathtaking 180 panaramic view of the Aegean Sea and the caldera., Believe me, once you have watched this sunset from Astra's Pool, you would not want to leave this island.
George, the manager, provided us the best service, from car rental, boat trips with Thalassa tour, to Psaraki restaurant . What we asked George the night before, we got the delivered right at my door steps the next morning We wanted to go for a boat trip, he hooked us up with a great operator and a beautiful boat.
We highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back again.

Goodbuy Astra, we will see you again next year

Christina

We spent an unforgettable week at the Astra in October celebrating our silver anniversary. It was such a delight staying there, we loved our pool room and not least being spoilt by the friendly and highly professional staff. We were somewhat suspicious of the enormous amount of fantastic reviews on Tripadvisor for this hotel but it was ALL TRUE!

We stayed in Astra for 3 nights during our honeymoon in the Greek islands. Those three days were the absolute highlight of our trip, and the Astra played a huge role in making it so.

First, the hotel is absolutely immaculate, and the location is superb. It's a pleasant 25 minute walk to the center of Fira town, but it's really quite nice to be staying in a quieter village away from the chaos of Fira. The walk is beautiful, and you can easily take a bus or taxi if you aren't up to it.

As we were there late in the season, we were upgraded to a Superior room, which was amazingly beautiful (though I suspect all of their rooms are equally nice, this was just a little larger). The private balcony was perfect, and nothing can beat having your breakfast made-to-order and served on your balcony in the morning. The food was outstanding.

The entire staff at the Astra was amazing, and it was clear that service was their foremost priority. For starters, you never had to lift a finger lugging your bags up and down the stairs!

George (the manager) gave us a very welcoming introduction to the hotel and the island when we checked it. He gave us all sorts of helpful advice on planning our stay. The best advice was to not worry about travelling anywhere else on the island to see the sunset -- there was absolutely no place better than watching from our own balcony!

Eleni (at the reception desk) was extremely helpful in making arrangements for a rental car, a sailing excursion, and taxi rides whenever necessary. Just say the word, and she would make it happen. She even practiced some Greek with us! And she offered us a complimentary day-room to use on our departure day so we could relax before heading to the airport.

One more thing -- definitely take them up on their airport/ferry transfer service (20 euros/couple). It's simple, fast, and reliable -- and doesn't cost much more than a taxi.

The Astra was a truly outstanding place to stay -- one of the finest, friendliest, and most welcoming that we've seen anywhere in the world. We will definitely be back!

great views of the caldera and sunsets
personalized, gracious attention to all our needs, including luggage pick up and delivery, which is a must considering the local topography (narrow, steep paths by the cliff)- breakfast in our room was a special treat every morning
detailed introduction upon arrival regarding the island, village, and hotel, all requests and questions taken care of

I ve stayed with my family this summer and i can only say one thing...it was just amazing...starting from the location of the hotel, which had a unique view to the volcano and the sunsen, the staff of the hotel was very friendly and helpfull in anything we wanted. ( Eleni, Popi, Christos the bartender and mr. Karagiannis that he payed attention to every detail)
The food from the restaurant was delicious such as the breakfast every morning...it sure was a great way to start our day in Santorini...The prices were very reasonable considering what it was offering to its guests..
I definatly suggest Santorini for summer holidays in Astra Suites..If i ever go again in Santorini i will stay for sure in this hotel.. :-)
