Stayed for 7 nights from 11th August to 18th August. Stayed in room 905 which had a great view of the beach and harbour. Room was what i could say was 'rustic' style with curved roof. Decent sized throughout with huge terrace. Didnt use the air con as a strange smell came from this but the floor fan was more than enough. Beds were very comfy and safe in room was good size. Wifi in room was good also.
Pool was lovely and pool side bar/restaurant was great also with good service from Mansor who worked hard and was great with my child.
Whole of hotel was kept to a high standard. Reception staff were great and helpful, really helpful!
Reception area is coming to an end of being refurbished which looks great already.
We stayed during a Spanish holiday period from the thursday 15th and had a fair few local gran canarians staying im complex. I do have one negative about this as they would be inviting their family and friends who were not staying at Rio piedras and taking up all pool loungers / sunbeds and playing loud music till late. They would enter using rear access to were the pool toilets were as they were kept open. Music part was not an issue. Found one of the "canarians" to be smoking a joint / marijuana at the pool side, which i felt was uncalled for and decided to go back to room with my 6 year old as this was not fair (not the hotels fault). Prior to the spanish holiday time, the complex was quiet and no issues.
We will be returning next year but at time out of spanish holidays.
Would recommend Rio Piedras for location, families, pool (which can be accessed by a second lift) and views.

Fabulous Hotel.
Just a few steps away from the beach the shops and restaurants.
The staff are fab especially the reception guys nothing was ever too much effort.. the reception area has just been revamped and looks great I now feel though this needs to be done in the rooms too as they are a little tired looking.
We will return very soon!

Really loved My stay at this self catering hotel.

It's right next to the beach and only 5 minutes away from them commercial centre.

While the accomodation itself isn't up to much if you get a Room with a terrace it makes up for it.

The terraces are massive with plenty of sunshine and fully furnished.

I think this hotel is currently being refurbished as whilst I was staying at Puerto Rico last month it was getting alot of work done and seemed to be closed.

I really hope it's being modernised and look forward to seeing pictures of the refurbished room's so I can book this hotel again
