Went here recently following a mix up with a booking in another restaurant. Food was superb and service excellent. The restaurant is small and most tables were occupied with groups ranging from 2 to 12.

Hidden restaurant in San Miguel with variety of local food. Wine very good, home made ice creams, lamb delicious. You have to watch a black cat.

Small local restaurant, probably no more than 20 seats. We arrived early (7ish) and the place was really busy. Lots of traditional dishes on the menu and everything very reasonably priced. Bread and dips are served straight away (you are charged for these though, not a problem for us as we ate them). We both had the fillet steak and it was good. The desserts were not that great through. The house red wine which comes in a carafe is good and very cheap. Considering there are only 2 people running the whole place, serving and cooking, they did a great job of seeing to everyone as they had a full house.

La Tasquita is a little gem in San Miguel de Abona. The owner is rightly proud of the building, which has been through all kinds of uses in it's time, finally becoming the restaurant it is now.
It's not a huge place -9 or 10 tables, the interior is on 3 levels with lots of polished wood, making it a cosy environment. The menu isn't huge, but has a good range of choices, including many Canarian specialities. House wine is available in the Carafe, but a good selection of Canarian wines are available and the owner will love you if you buy local!
Food is freshly cooked and really tasty. All the ice cream is made on the premises and the Turon ice cream is just amazing!
If you're lucky the restaurant cat will wander round to check out the clients while you're there, and if you're really lucky the owner will give you a free glass of his home made liqueur with the bill, the orange flavour is very nice. We went twice and had a great meal both times.
