There is much to fault about the hotel (the restaurant is reviewed separately). Whilst the location is fabulous and the views are wonderful, the rooms are basic, the bathrooms are small and dated, the wifi is patchy and noise carries between the rooms, even between the floors. But nonetheless, it's a lovely place, almost entirely because it's a family business run by people who clearly care, and who offer good service with genuine warmth.

With its views of the bay and the marina at Llafranc, the Casamar is a very special hotel indeed. Breakfast on the terrace provided a vast selection of goodies, from delicious croissants to elegant little squares of tortilla, jamon, tomatoes . . . Serve-yourself Nespresso machines allow one to overdose on espresso, which goes some way to making up for the lack of hot drink facilities in the bedrooms. But overall a beautiful base from which to explore this unspoilt stretch of the Costa Brava

The hotel was recommended to me by the previous hotel. They gave me a good price for the room because I was single traveller so I was given a small double room but it was perfect for my needs. Clean, good location, great view from the Terrace very friendly staff who gave me great ideas for where to go to. The breakfast was nice on the terrace overlooking the bay. If you pay more money you get a room with a view and it would be quieter further way from the kitchen. No complaints though it was really good value.

The only Michelin starred restaurant in llfrac. The menu was very well put together and well thought out. Superb food, the service could have been a little better consider g its status. But all in all..:: excellent. Not as expensive as I thought and the wine list covers all tastes and budgets. Who could complain ??
We weren't able to stay at the hotel as it was full booked. But looked lovely downstairs.

Other guests attesting to their umpteenth visit confirms the worth of this charming little hotel in a beautiful situation overlooking the bay.
The family run establishment is very welcoming and efficient
The rooms are on the small side with small balconies not all of which have a sea view.
There is a want of an outdoor seating area which is a disadvantage . A patio of yore has been given over to a dining room extension .
The hotel now labels itself restaurant with hotel accommodation . The dining experience is very special and has some Michelin recognition .The options are an a la carte experience or the hotel standard menu . This later is of such a high standard that I would recommend this rather the expensive A La carte menu .The wine list is extensive but does offer some wines at a realistic price all of which proved to be excellent.
There is parking on the doorstep at no cost .
Access to the town and beach is by steps nearing 100 in number and for this ageing specimen and his wife something of a challenge .

Room Tip: worth the extra for a view if possible
