Living locally we have always said we would try this place, last night we finally made it!

VERY welcoming, fast and friendly service. The day to day menu is very good indeed covering lots of different fish and shellfish. There are also steaks and other meats if your not a fish lover. They do a T-Bone or a Tomahawk steak which look AMAZING! These need to be ordered the day before - be warned! I didn't and lost out..... :-(

Good range of specials and indeed the wine list. The pint of prawns was really good and the vegetarian starter sharing platter - not a veggie and just fancied a change but well worth it - the pickled onions in there were historic! Lovely fries too!

They are very busy, especially with the summer coming up, so book early! They have outside tables (with are dog friendly) but these cannot be reserved (due to the weather - fair enough) and are allocated when you get there - arrive early for these is my advice!

Would I go back - yes, it's already booked.....

We recently visited, the first time since it had changed owners. The service was appalling, when we arrived we had to go and find a waitress for drinks. We were told when we asked for extra ice that they had been busy and were short of ice ?? The Coop is round the corner ??? They no longer do the steamed crab claws which we always enjoyed at the Crab Shack, we started with shell on prawns which were full of eggs so not very pleasant. Three of the party had mussels for the main course which were average and I had the king prawns. We sat after finishing our main course with the dirty plates for sometime and again we had to go and find a waitress. We said we were very disappointed but it fell on deaf ears. There didn’t seem to be anyone taking charge of the front of house just waitresses saying they had been really busy - we won’t be hurrying back

We just love this place .Fresh seafood and amazing place to eat .You are not rushed in any way as you are given a slot to eat .Felt sorry for people who walked in thinking they could just sit down and eat .Book early to avoid disappointment you won’t be let down once you get a table

I had never managed to dine at this small, very popular restaurant before due to always leaving it too late to book! But as I knew I would be having lunch with a friend, I made sure we booked in advance, and we were lucky enough to get a table.

Once we had eventually made it to the restaurant (after hitting traffic!), we were greeted by very friendly staff, who seated us, explained how their menu worked and gave us a kind reminder of our 2 hour window on our table. Although they are a very small restaurant, with limited seating, they make the most out of it with 2 sittings!

We had decided to go for a starter of scallops, 2 each, in a pancetta butter, which was recommended by one of the lovely waitresses, and I had a shellfish linguine for mains. Both were absolutely delicious and we can now see why so many people love this restaurant. The girls that served us, seemed to be very knowledgeable about the produce they serve, and you can tell that they all enjoy working there... I mean, who can complain when they have the beautiful back beach of Teignmouth sitting outside their doorstep.

All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, the food was outstanding and we will definitely be returning when we are back in Teignmouth again.

Called late afternoon when only the outside barbecue was trading. We were happy to spend best part of £100 on drinks and seafood grill for two, but staff could not be bothered. They could not serve us wine because they claimed there were no glasses, even though we were the only customers. Clearing the empty glasses on the outside tables and washing them had not, apparantly, been considered nor taking them from the laid up restaurant tables inside because they might be needed in two hours time when the restaurant re-opened.
The most difficult thing for most businesses is getting customers through the door. This restaurant attracts plenty because of its location, but the manager does not seem to know how to properly deal with them! Remember, without customers, you have no business.
