Hard to find is its biggest problem. The food was not bad at all for a place as small as Ballandean. Limited wine list, but the 2006 Robinsons Cabernet was excellent. The salmon was very good and the affogato was simple and elegant. It's being expanded and renamed. But good menus and glassware, good service, but it's not cheap. The interior could certainly be made to be more warm, but it's a work in progress. I would certainly go back.

We ordered separate entrees, mains and desserts but ended up sharing all three dishes with each other as they just had to be experienced by the other! The food was beautiful and the flavours amazing. Had such a great night which topped off a wonderful day.

Love this place. John, the chef/ owner, is a great cook. Obviously loves his work. The food is excellent. The wine list has been rejigger over the last few years and now features a lot of local wines

Hot day so we were looking for things a little lighter. We all found something tasty to choose and it was enjoyed by all. Coconut prawns with chips and salad was lovely. Tucked into the trees so tricky to spot but worth a visit. Nice local wine selection. Family run and good service.

four of us went for dinner on a Friday evening and there were only another three tables of 2 there, the ambiance was very stark and the tables were spoilt by putting paper over linen tablecloths, a very nice waiter but with not much knowledge about the dishes on the menu which was really only 5 main dishes and they included 2 Salmon dishes, one chicken, one lamb and fillet mignon with 2 sauces, my entrée of scallops was very good as was my steak which was cooked perfectly, the biggest issue I had as did one other in the group that ordered the steak was that the sauce on the menu was advertised as a WILD MUSHROOM jus, I was totally amazed when the meal arrived to find that the wild mushrooms were no more than champignons from a can and tasted as you would expect from rubbery little excuses for a mushroom, very disappointing for a group of 4 with a bill of $280.00 with only 2 entrees and 2 deserts, would not recommend this restaurant
