Best accommodation I've ever experienced in my life. We stayed in the separate cottage from the main B&B called Earl cottage. Underfloor heating throughout, luxurious linen and the fluffiest towels I've ever felt, comfy dressing gowns, super warm despite minus temperatures outside. Extensive tea range and lovely furniture and body products on offer. Friendly, helpful hosts yet got the privacy we needed away from busy weeks and stress. Maree gave us towels for the hot pools and water when our car windscreen frosted over. Only regret is not having the breakfast booked through the place for the next day as cafes had big waits, no tables and not as big of a menu plus how convenient would it have been getting breakfast bought to the cottage! Looking forward to the next time I stay here. Would expect to pay hundreds more for such quality.

The place is AMAZING and you could not ask for more attentive hosts. Spacious period home with plenty of original features and modern bathrooms etc. Very welcoming, quiet and relaxing... Every day at 18:30 hosts and guests have "chat over glass of wine" this is something not to be missed :)

Room Tip: Amazing period home with modern bathrooms.

My wife and I had a fantastic stay at Cheltenham House.

This accommodation is well located to tourist attractions such as the hot pools and a wide range of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Len and Marie are great hosts. They made us feel very welcome immediately after arriving and we really enjoyed sharing a glass of wine with them in the evening before heading out for food.

The breakfast is fantastic and the choices available cater for all.

The only thing we were dissapointed with was we only got to enjoy this B&B for one night - we can certainly see why they have a high number of regular guests.

We've stayed at Cheltenham House several times over the past few years but our last stay, April 2017, was very special as we got married in Hanmer Springs and Maree & Len, the owners, went way beyond any expectations we had in helping in so many thoughtful ways to make our wedding plans easier. They welcomed our family and friends so warmly and our memories of our stay there are outstanding because of their friendliness and hospitality. We really can't recommend this glorious place highly enough - not only because of the beautiful glorious rooms & amazing breakfasts but also because of the genuine warmth and hospitality that our hosts offered. A big thank you and ... see you soon!!! Jules & Don (Mr & Mrs!!!)

We had a large room with a conservatory off it in which our breakfast was served.
The bathroom was compact but all the facilities were good and the water was hot.

After a walk through one of the local woods we returned to change before we met other guests and the hosts in the billiard room for drinks. (Normally this would be on the patio but the weather was wet). Our hosts provided wine and we stood and enjoyed a conversation with them and the two other guests (more were arriving later that night).
We then went out for a meal and were joined by the other guests which showed th value of meeting them over a glass of wine.
Breakfast was excellent and as I had requested included Eggs Benedict on salmon and scrambled egg with salmon for my wife There were of course, muesli and toast as well.
