We satyed 3 nights in a pool villa. Civilai Hill delivers very well on cerenity, great views and beautiful surroundings! In addition the pool villa was very nice, with great space, wooden floors, view straight from the bed, sauna, a huge bathroom, jacuzzi and even an outside wooden bathtub. If you then add very nice, service minded staff that gives you an instant feeling of small scale and personal care you have something that should be rated a 5, even with a plus.
We also got nice complimentary surprises two of the days with homemade juice or local cookies. Very nice!
However, the villas are isolated and hence you are basically without any other choice for food than the restaurant at Civilai Hill. There is a small village about 2km away, but that village doesn't have any restaurant choices at all. Therefore, the final total experience also becomes very dependent on CH's kitchen, which was not up to the standard of everything else at the place. The menue is quite limited (we only chose from Thai dishes), and the choices are not very exciting nor great tasting. The breakfast (which you order the night before) has a lot of choices and is OK, but not 5-star.
So, while we loved the villa, the staff and the surroundings and rate all those very high, we would hope that the restaurant improves a lot in the near future.
