It was freezing cold of December and I was loving it. I had never seen so much snow as much as I saw in Austria. It became my favorite European county for more than one reason. After wrapping up my tour of Salzburg I was heading to Hallstatt and I was to stay at this little place called Bad Goisern.
When I booked the hotel for my stay, I never knew that this was a UNESCO World Heritage Site east of Salzburg and that the family-run Gasthof Zur Post looks back to a very long tradition business. All I looked at was that this property was situated close to Lake Hallstatt. As soon as I checked-in I was shown how to reach my room and how the entry and exit worked and at what hours. I had a good view from my room and all I could see around was snow everywhere.
The breakfast served was nice and the owners were very friendly too. Because it was Christmas time, the property was not too packed and there was plenty of room for you to enjoy. Every one was hospitable. The owner even dropped me and few other guests to the nearest railway station. Loved everything about my stay here.More
