This is the beach where we formed a rear-guard during the miracle of Dunkirk. People forget that operation Dynamo stretched from Bray Dunes down to De Panne, 9 miles. A beautiful beach, so sandy, on a sunny day a joy to be on. I always take a little time to walk to the local park to the memorial to our brave soldiers. Well worth a holiday to a foreign place but a near location.
