My family first experience with this restaurant was not the best, as we had no reservation.
But we tried again, as it was highly recommended as a very old and traditional trattoria in Lastra and had a wonderful meal.
This time, even without the reservation, we were accommodated and could enjoy a very good meal.
Make sure you book in advance and enjoy!

Traditional delicious and honest cuisine. Good choice of real florentine dishes , top quality . Affettati misti are superior quality and florentine steak is unrivalled. A restaurant for families , unpretentious and maybe a bit noisy if you happen to sit near large groups but really worth the experience. Best in class if you are looking for Florence in a plate. Good choice of wines is also available and you can enjoy in season porcini and ovuli salad.

We found this restaurant through TripAdvisor and was near the villa where we were staying for the week. Clearly a place for locals, but we were warmly treated. We ate there twice - the food was very fresh, authentic but the staff was wonderful and very friendly. The first visit my husband and I had the steak - which I recommend sharing. We each ordered one and took most of it home. The steak was super good. We also had sides of Tuscan beans, mixed green salad, spinach and fried potatoes (which are chips and not really fries). Our dining companion had ravioli, which she loved so much she had it the second time too, and the sausage. All were delicious, not fussy and full of flavor. The second night we all had pasta - some with tomato sauce and the other with wild boar ragu - the boar ragu was fabulous and made more so by the home-made pasta. The wine selections are just fine and even liked the house wine. We liked it so much we returned and would return again. Dessert was good too - some of the best biscotti and tiramisu that we had. Highly recommended. The staff, although not all were totally fluent in English were great, made a huge effort and we had great meals.

Recommended by friends, we tried this place for dinner. I am sorry we only had 1 night to eat here. We had some appetizers, and then they were nice enough to split the pasta dishes in two so we could save room for steak. We got 0.9 Kg of steak for three of us )my son got the grilled lamb chops which were equally delicious). The steak was as tender and perfectly cooked as any steak I have ever had. Just be warned that it comes out rare to medium rare. They do not ask you how your want i cooked.
The staff were very nice, and the Vino di Casa was delicious (their own bottles)

This restaurant was recommended by our taxi driver and by the host at our Villa. They weren't wrong. Beef steak Florentine was amazing. It's T-Bone that is measured in kilograms. Everyone in our group tried this steak and felt like it was worth it. We had different sides of cannelloni beans and tomatoes, porcini mushrooms, and baked potatoes. Everything was great.

If you can make it here you should. One recommendation however, don't eat much before dinner. I have never seen steaks this size in my life. We took home plenty of leftovers and even bones for the dogs that are Villa. Be sure and make a trip
