We have visited Sinalunga before and eaten here. The best restaurant in town and always quite busy with local trade even out of season. Nice atmosphere and lovely, helpful staff. Little English but part of the pleasure is deciding with the staff what to eat in Italian! The starters of bruscheta are pretty filling! For mains we had saltimbocca - great, and I had the bacalao (cod) because I wished for something light. It is perhaps the dish I wouldn't order again as although a plentiful portion it was from frozen and a little tough, swamped in a tomato sauce. Everything else is good solid Tuscan cooking, nothing outstanding but honest food. Would certainly return. E59 for 2 with wine, 2 mains, one starter, one dessert and one coffee.

While cruising Tuscany driving from place to another, we accidentally stopped in Sinalunga and without checking Tripadvisor we've stopped along the one and only main road to the centre at what we thought it was an attractive restaurant .

Of course no booking and the place was packed. So instead of giving up hopes once the waitress told us there was no chance, my wife insisted to stay over and wait as long as it would have taken for the sake of having lunch here.

Luckily enough chef Stefano, One of the two brothers running the restaurant still under their mother supervision even though times are slightly different , let us sit at the bar counter and there our journey between good experiences and local life started!

The venue was simply amazing. Warm and well furnished. We preferred the very first hall at the entrance rather than the main restaurant hall further down which might keeps some of the cooking smells coming from the kitchen.

The personnel was top level. We really enjoyed our "red carpet" service at the bar counter by drinking house wine and having starters in a very familiar and strong established & frank conversation .

Local house starters along their main "tagliata" from a Fiorentina fillet perfectly cooked and served with a nice presentation ended our lunch over here after three lovely hours spent over.

Ratio quality cost afar simply good considering the cut of the meat we had to share along the countless red wines had along with it.

Unfortunately enough we had no luck in booking one of their fee rooms to let over the restaurant.

So one tip here. Come down to explore this restaurant no matter how far you are. Despite the apparently distance and presence in a anonymous town, it is Instead reachable in no time. After all, if you want to have a blast , you!,3 got to go out there and look for it.

I hope to be back Asap

Keep up the great work.

Ciao

This restaurant was recommended by local merchants when we did not know where to go. We came in late without reservations, and weren't expecting much. What a wonderful surprise! We ended up being the last guests dining, just lingering to savor the experience. Everything we had was superb, but the lasagna was an absolute delicacy. We've never had lasagna quite as light and flavorful as this. We enjoyed the local wine and the limoncello as well. Our host was most friendly - we very much enjoyed talking with him and comparing life in Tuscany with life in the United States. We highly recommend this for a great Tuscan dining experience.

If your idea of italian "osteria" (like mine) is a small place with cosy atmosphere, homely staff and fantastic food served by an old, nice grandma....this is the place to go. The outside is somehow unattractive, but food really deserves a stopover!!!

Loved the energetic and charismatic Italian Mama who seems to be gloriously in charge of everything. It gets very busy, so I would recommend reservations. The food was super. Even though our Italian Mama spoke little English she gave us delightful instructions on the food, what to order, how to eat it and some Limoncello to wash the last bite down. This place is the total package, atmosphere, food and wonderful characters. We even got a departing hug for our Italian Mama. If you are near Sinalunga, look no further.
