This is a very nice hotel, not top quality luxury but pretty good nonetheless. Wew were driven here from the Arenal area along an appalling road but went back by ferry which was far better and an experience in itself! The hotel has delightful attentive well trained staff who were good fun and helpful at all times. Good, if not over exciting food, especially at lunchtimes. Prices, however included tax which was positive. The room we had was lovely, close to the sea, with efficient aircon. It was spotless and had a great shower with nice toiletries. I went horse riding which was excellent, a lovely ride over to tambor bay and a canter along the beach at the end but I would not have said it was suitable for novices and certainly not for non riders. Good golf course although charging for balls, tees etc as well as green fees and clubs rankled a bit.
Nice walks to waterfall and lookout point, especially at sunset. Great pool and sun deck, and cocktail selection! One wee thing, there was an overlying suggestion of a lack of trust, eg threatening to charge us 25 dollars if we mislaid a beach towel, empty mini bar, orders only. I dare say there had been problems but I would expect a 4 star "boutique" hotel to have been above that. But this is minor, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend.More
