This is the ideal guesthouse for those who like to hike in the beautiful trails of east Pelion and looking for a relaxing vacation.
The hosts, Filaretos and Mariana, are very friendly and helpful.
Breakfasts prepared from the local garden's ingredients are so delicious.
I highly recommend this hotel. Order a dinner at least once during your stay. It is a fantastic experience.

We had such a wonderful stay in Amanita! We stayed there 5 nights and only wish we could have stayed longer...
The place is absolutely charming, with its tastefully decorated rooms, the magical garden, and the warm hospitality of Filaretos and Mariana.
Amanita is located in a peaceful spot near the woods, yet a short walk from the main road, and just a few minutes drive from Pelion's most gorgeous beaches. Milopotamos, the nearest beach, is absolutely gorgeous. We also took the old hiking trail from the hotel to Damouchari which was lovely, and from there to Fakistra beach (breath-takingly beautiful), we did some hiking in the woods and visited villages near by.
Breakfast... Well, breakfast was a daily delight! Surprising dishes each morning, lovingly made with fresh products grown locally. We also had dinner in Amanita one evening, which was superb! Try it, you won't regret it. :)
To summarize, we just came back from Amanita recently, and find ourselves planning our next vacation there... Doesn't it say it all? :)

Room Tip: Rooms in upper floor have better view of the sea, yet the separate units have their own garden. Fami...

A special location, surrounded by a green yard and a terrace overlooking the sea and the mountain. Not exactly in the center of Tsagkarada village, but you can reach the central square and the "tavernas" area in just 30-45 minutes walk.
Very good location for walking or driving to the main beaches in the area: Mylopotamos (walk ~ 1 h, drive 10 min), Fakrista ( walk ~ 30 m, drive ~ 5 min), Damouchari ( walk ~ 1,5 h, drive 20 min via Mouresi), Limniona ( drive ~ 20 min ).
The rooms are very cozy, elegant, furbished with very high quality materials ( from windows' wood to bath equipment, from bed lingerie to bath cosmetics ).
The breakfast is very healthy, tasty and generous (more like a brunch ), including a lot of fresh products from the guesthouse garden.
The landlords - Filaretos and Marianna - are very kind, very interesting people ( we loved our conversations on different subjects ) and they gave us good advise on the region, places to visit or restaurants.
One night we had dinner at the location. It was a great idea since we spent a wonderful and relaxing time. Many thanks to Marianna for the great funghi porcini risotto and many thanks to Filaretos for the delicate dish consisting in "amanita caesarea" mushrooms cooked in wine.
I would also recommend to pick up some gifts for you or for friends, from their selection of delicious house-made products, like jams, chutneys, digestives.

The perfect place to stay to really enjoy the spirit and the beauty of Pelion. A warm and wonderful welcome from the owners who went out of their share to give us their love for the region and hosted us in a perfect way.
The rooms are not too big but definitely enough for a couple, the breakfast is copious and based on fresh vegetables grown in their garden, it is recommended to have dinner their, again, very copious, of excellent quality and original.
The location is close enough to the beaches and the small villages in which one can find beautiful taverns.
We will return, this time with the whole family.
Highly recommended!!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
AMANITA is situated in a truly privileged location between mountain and sea on the eastern slopes of Mt. Pelion in the genteel village of Tsangarada in the Prefecture of Magnesia, Greece. Behind it soars Mt. Pelion, ancient home of the Centaurs; a mountain much sung of; a mountain where the trees cast deep shade and countless springs bubble forth. Gazing outwards from the Guesthouse one sees the blue of the Aegean Sea, spotted with the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnissos. All around is the verdant countryside of Tsangarada with its renowned paths, centuries old trees, old stone fountains and bridges.AMANITA is a beautifully restored old mansion of the 19th century. The AMANITA Guesthouse consists of two buildings: the three-storey main house and a two-storey outhouse. We offer 6 accommodation options, 5 of which are located in the main house (2 suites consisting of 2 rooms, 1 three-bed room and 2 double rooms), and a self-contained, fully fitted 2-room apartment with its own kitchenette in the outhouse. The main house has two sitting areas, a breakfast room and a professional kitchen. We attach great importance to local cuisine. That's why our famous breakfast that we serve includes hand-kneaded bread, home-made jam and local specialities such as pies and herby omelettes. ... more   less
