Melt in the mouth food, friendly , efficient service, great value. Mains of Roe Deer Loin and Halibut were cooked to perfection. Starters and puddings were sublime. We were wrong to save Braidwoods for a special birthday occasion...we will be regulars from now on.

This is quite possibly the best restaurant in Scotland. Our party of six was treated to a meal that exceeded all of our expectations. It seemed that we ordered everything on the menu and the superlatives describing each dish were flowing profusely with the beautiful wines from a carefully prepared wine list. Service at this quaint dining room was both professional and enthusiastic. The owner team of chef and spouse keep a watchful eye on the dining room and their commitment to high quality food and service results in a magnificent product. Their was nothing about this restaurant that we did not like, except for the fact that it’s not located in our city.

Very good but average for a Michelin 1*. The starter and dessert were okay but the main of Aberdeen Angus Fillet was really good. Tender and went well with the side dishes. Service was friendly but could have been more efficient. Booking is essential. Very small restaurant ambient wise very simple. About 40 minutes from Glasgow city centre. The plating could have been a little more neat.

Braidwood’s is able to boast that it has the longest-awarded Michelin star in Scotland. This is quite an achievement.
It is a delightful place, in the middle of the country, but is well-known in the area, as is evinced by the fact that it was full the evening we went.
The food is very good, though I think that, were it (say) in London or Edinburgh it might not have achieved the accolade. This isn’t a criticism - the food is excellent and very well-presented. Local ingredients, very well done. And (frankly) the prices are extremely reasonable and a fraction of what one would have to pay in a large city, so…
The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There is an excellent (and not over-the-top) list of Scottish gins to try, and the wine list, though small, is perfectly adequate.
We were there for a family dinner, and it was the ideal setting. Good food in a charming setting and a bill that didn’t break the bank. What’s not to like?

Thought we would re-visit Braidwoods for our 20th anniversary after many years. What a fantastic dining experience it was. Food was perfect , service was perfect , efficient and so welcoming. The best dining experience we have had in a long time. We'll be back as soon as possible.
