Ambiance and location good, menu very Germanic and limited. Could try a good deal better. Pricing is very competitive but given the ambitions of the owners daughter a significant injection of enterprise into menu selection/planning is required.

We were part of an organised week long trip. The hotel was booked by a colleague who spends many weeks of the year in this part of the world. He didn't let us down. Given the numbers involved - all arriving in two coaches reception was handled quite efficiently. We were allocated rooms in the Annexe which unfortunately didn't have a lift. However, the rooms were clean, quite large and well appointed. No tea/coffee making facilities but that was known in advance. Service was very good throughout our stay- we were made to feel very welcome and staff were keen to point out the must see aspects of the Valley. The breakfasts were substantial and the evening meals were also very good. The cost of drinks was less than you would pay for an equivalent hotel in this country. A good selection of beers and wines.Although the hotel had internet the quality was some time variable. The hotel is very well placed for walking or bicycling along the river.

Room Tip: The River facing rooms are the best option.

The hotel is very good . The rooms are clean and adequate, but no tea or coffee making facility . The food was good , the breakfast was excellent . It takes about 1 hour to walk into Cochem along the River Mosel .

Room Tip: The rooms in front overlook a fairly busy road

Great stay with friends and/or for couples in a great environment, ideal for hiking through the vineyards, discovering all the castles, either in perfect state or in ruins. The wine tasting possibilities are numerous, organized by different wine growers.
The hotel is situated near Cochem, where all kinds of visits to the city can be planned : cultural, historical or plain touristic wining, dining and shopping.
The half board formula at the hotel (with beautifully renovated rooms) is perfect with a great breakfast buffet and a very tasty supper accompanied by local wines (sparkling or not). And the bar or the sauna are perfect alternatives if you don't want to go out.
