Went for tapas late lunchtime. Was very busy with locals and I had good reviews from locals and ex pats alike. However the woman behind the counter was rude and dismissive when I asked - in good Spanish- what tapas were available.
I chose three and was surprised that the prawns (gambas) were far from fresh. They are always delicious here. Some of them were fresher than others. Some had been washed in salt to remove the tell tale ammmonia smell of shellfish when it starts to deteriorate. I did not complain as each tapas is only €1 and I really couldn't be bothered!

I am aware that most Spanish waiters are friendly and charming perhaps this lady was having a bad day?

Will return to give them another go!

Thank Sarah C

I love the tapas here and enjoy going to this restaurant each time we visit this beautiful pueblo. The coffee is terrific! It is a perfect place for lunch or any time. Good service and very clean bathroom too.

we were staying close by in a B&B so needed to eat out.
The village is on a hilltop and the roads narrow and steep.
There is little else to do as the shops for local essentials and no souvenirs which is the attraction.
This particular bar is the centre of attraction based on location and the amazing views across the Andalusian countryside.
The menu is basic and local food is listed.
We had 4 tapas one lunchtime and deep fried eggplant and a grilled sole on a dinner time.
Wine is cheap as is the beer.
We were there on a Friday night and it was full constantly with locals eating until the early hours.
Great fun and people watchng.

We are staying nearby and having arrived on a Sunday when no shops were open popped into Alozaina for a bite, a drink and a walk about. Bar Neuvo is a great little place, local colour, lovely staff, huge gin and tonics and a simple but tasty range of tapas, recommend the Russian salad. If you can speak a few words of Spanish they really appreciate it, if it's only to order Cerveza and gin tonic!
