Dining at Caracol is an experience not available anywhere else on the island. The Michelin star apprenticeships of both the chef and maitre'd are evident throughout the meal. From the moment you make a reservation and they inquire about allergies or aversions so that they can completely customize your meal if you'd like, it is all in the details. From greeting to goodbye you will be pampered. The chef's dinner with wine pairings was incredible. It was all fresh, locally sourced items, down to the beautiful, edible floral garnishes. We dined predominately on seafood with one beef course. One can also request all seafood or other directions for the kitchen to take. Of course, you can order a la carte as well-I don't think you can go wrong with anything from Caracol's menu. Serving sizes are Michelin sized but even my hungry husband was more than satisfied. Every item is perfectly prepared and presented...treat yourself it the price point is a stretch for you. It is worth every cent and moment there. (Our chef's dinner included beautiful steamers, a mackerel ceviche, beef tartar with an incredibly tasty sauce that didn't over power and was a perfect compliment, and dessert was a selection of hand formed chocolates (one finished in gold), house made ice creams and other delectable morsels. The wine pairings were spot on and mostly of Portugese origin. We will always return to Caracol whenever we return to Terschelling. We cannot recommend this incredible, hip, sophisticated restaurant enough!
