I have now visited the '14 Sterren' multiple times and every time I get reconfirmed that this is definitely my favorite location to stay when visiting Texel. Next to forest and dune area, a short drive from villages, and the beach near at hand, but so peaceful and quiet. At any time of year this place has so much to offer. The rooms are spacious, well taken care of, the breakfast on bed is a gift, dinner in the restaurant next doors is quality, but above all it's the people that make the stay so comfortable. High quality, professional, but still personal and fun. I recommend staying here for many reasons, and I will definitely return. Rather sooner than later.

A few miles outside Den Burg, this transformed barn offers 14 rooms (hence the name) that provide clean accommodation at decent rates for the island. Included in the rate is an excellent breakfast that standard is brought to your room. The only downside for some might be is that the earliest they deliver the breakfast is 08:30. But for the early risers there is a coffee machine in the room.

The hotel also features a restaurant with bar 'De Worsteltent' that offers a very good dining experience. But since the bar is in the restaurant and the restaurant closes around 10, don't plan on finding a place in the bar for a few late night drinks.

Room tip: There is not a great deal of sound insulation between the rooms. But if you like a somewhat larger room with a bath + separate shower vs. only a shower, order one of the upstairs rooms.

Hotel “De 14 sterren” isn’t a hotel; it’s a B&B. It offers overnight lodging with breakfast included in the room rate. No other guest services, facilities or amenities are available like room service, lounge, bar, restaurant or dinning room for breakfast. Excellent breakfast is brought each morning to your room. This is prepared in the adjacent restaurant “De worsteltent”.

Behind the façade of an old farmhouse you’ll find a modern purposely build building with 14 different styled bedrooms with attached private bathroom. Each bedroom has its own front door to the outside. There is no reception area or corridor. Each room has satellite television and telephone. Wireless internet is available by paid access to a FON spot. Each room is cleaned every day.

The location is great. “De 14 sterren” is on the edge of “De Dennen” forest, part of the Dunes of Texel National Park. A beautiful area of beaches, dunes and forest, stretching from the south to the north of the island with excellent recreational opportunities.

We paid € 150 a night, with is expensive for a simple B&B.

went to Texel at the end of September. A bit of a wildcard as we knew very little about it. Great island and great hotel, breakfast brought to our patio terrace in the morning to be eaten in the sun watching the birds. The restaurant on sight is very good but be warned, off season the kitchen closes at 8 on weekdays!!
