What an amazing experience at the poolhouse hostel. Julio is by far the best host, the best tour guide and the best person I've met during my trip across El Salvador!The earth needs more people like Julio and more hostel like the poolhouse! ;) Mucho Gracias !

This hostel was one of the highlights of our month long trip, despite only staying here for one night. The hostel owner, Julio, goes above and beyond to accomodate everyone’s needs and make sure that everyone is catered for. Not only does he keep a lovely, comfortable and clean hostel, but he personally arranges trips and activities for those staying there.
As soon as we arrived and met the others hostel guests, Julio drove us all to see the nearby ruins and visit the hot springs waterfall before taking us all to dinner. The next day we visited the volcano, and again Julio drove a group of us there and waited whilst we did the hike before taking us to a beautiful restaurant by the lake for lunch and then somewhere to swim. The hostel itself is cosy and clean, with cooking and laundry facilities, and a lovely small garden with a swimming pool.
If you’re visitng Santa Ana then be sure to stay at Pool House. We saw so much more of Santa Ana than we would have if we were simply left to our own devices, and met some great people along the way. Thanks Julio for making our short stay in Santa Ana so memorable.
This hostel was one of the best homey hostels I’ve ever stayed in. The owner Julio, is a great host. As soon as we got there he gave us the run down on all the things to do in Santa Ana, where to go where not to bother. He gave us bus info and cheap food places to go to. He offers private tours for cheap and they are well worth it. Our beds were super comfy, bedrooms could have been cleaner but still pretty good. Pool out the back, AWESOME kitchen, and super funky house furniture that he has made all himself from tables to bed bunks to frames and signs on walls, etc. Highly recommend this place! Cool vibe!

So basically no one paid me for this review it's important to mention. This is a very nice human-scale and familial hostel. The owner is organising and going on himself to tours with guest and he's more than friendly and helpfull. Good location as well. Very nice staff. Highly recommend this place for a stay in Santa Ana. I was lucky cause I stayed in that house. The owners are so sweet, friendly and so helpful. They helped me to catch my bus and found other traveler who hiked with me. Very clean rooms, super cool kitchen and of course swimming pool. Highly recommend this hostel!
Staying with Jess & Julio was such a treat. They really do create a nice homely feel here and are incredibly helpful with any information you need. With a nice pool in the back to escape the heat, kitchen facilities to cook your own food, comfortable beds and wonderful hosts what more could you want in a hostel. A great place to chill and would happily return here!
