We were 4 friends who stayed at Grünwald during the weekend when Marcialonga took place.
At first glance the hotel looked like it was in the need of renovation, however, at the same time it was authentic for this small and very charming village.
The staff were super friendly, especially the lady at the front desk. She actually gave us her private shampoo, and some other guests got to use her car for a day trip skiing.
The bartender stayed up until early morning to please the guests, even though he probably was really tired.
Never tried the spa, but had a quick massage, which was ok.
Never had dinner at the hotel, and breakfast was no more than ok.
Some of the rooms were quite small, but clean. The rooms for three persons were much bigger though. Some noise from the road outside, would ask for a room not facing the road.
Would consider to go back, but only for the location and very service minded staff.

Hotel is definively not a 4 stars one, I would rate is as 2 stars. Horrible food, much tastless, only good thing they served was a tiramisu. We've been waiting long for food, they served first dish for dinner around 8 pm and when u r starving after all day skiing is just too late. Swiming pool is very small and bubbles machine of course was out of order. No welcome drink or animations for guests. no mini fridge in rooms. Staff does not speak English much. for this money u can get sth much better.

So.You should inmediately visit this "four stars hotel". We like animals, but the presence of a dog in a dining room of a four star hotel is quite strange, would You agree?
Well, so be prepaird to find Czech guests leting there dog drink from a normal glass taken from the table. And the waiters will not react....: the hotel people just consider everything is ok. Sorry, but I don't know the opiniom of the italian sanitary inspection...

Goodmorning Dear Mr. Pawel.
Thanks for being our guest, you were welcome here.
I'm sorry but its review is not true. This is a review that doesn’t deserve comment, but how responsible I must comment, because so many people can know the truth.
The lady who introduced the dog in the restaurant was kindly invited to an interview in the office. The restaurant staff is very polite and they can't quarrel with a client in front of so many people. It's called: etiquette.
In addition, Mr. Pawel, instead we received from you a damage done to the room. I want to you Remember that you hadn't paid the damages in full. To us, it cost not only work to repair the closet door, which you broke with a kick I believe, but it cost us move our customers to another hotel and pay for the stay.
I invite all those who read these bad reviews, do not believe everything. Because, if people have personal problems can’t criticize other people. You have done your holiday a reason not to be happy. The guests should remain calm and enjoy the good things, not to look for reasons to make a war. I wish you much happiness. Hotel Management.

Our stay in this hotel was a biggest disappointment in Cavalese. It's a three star hotel but no way four. First of all it was very cold in a room thought it wasn't too much cold outside. My sport watches equipped with thermometer so I can stay fact that by morning temperature in the room dropped to 16 degrees!!! Hotel switches on radiators only for a few hours in the evening. Even then it was a way too cold. And this is a sky hotel. That was a real challenge to get our clothes dry for next day on only one just warm radiator. Yes, they have a sky room but only for skying equipment.
Hotel's big advert is a swimming pool and sauna. It is based underground, very small, and always overcrowded. As I could recognize by language 99% of visitors were Italians with a very low sauna
culture. Almost nobody took shower before entering sauna or steam room, didn't use towels, could keep door open to call or speak with somebody and didn't take shower after sauna before going into pool.
Breakfast was one of the poorest I ever saw. EVERYDAY absolutely the same. Only one kind of cheese and cheap ham. Ok, there were yogurts in caps, cruasans and corn flakes. But, I repeat absolutely same for whole week. Fried eggs were usually cold and not enough for all visitors.
That was a breakfast for skiers.
Hotel is very close to Alpe Cermis lift, but everything is in a working distance in Cavalese. Considering very good arrangement of sky buses it's not a big advantage of this hotel.
WiFi Internet was available on our floor but we manage to connect only once. Otherwise it worked fine in lobby. Strange, but one of routers was placed outside entrance. For whom?
Grunwald is a Alpe style reasonable hotel but not for the value of money they want.

The hotel is placed in a very quiet street. 20 cars can be parked by the hotel, others has parking in 150 meters. The double rooms are small with balcony and with small bathroom. The stuff are wery friendly and helpful. They cleand every day with a vacuum cleaner, change towels... The breakfast would be more richer, but for us it was enough. The dinner was a la carte-like. We have to choose the meals day before. Taste was average. Drinks have to be payed. The pool 3x10 m and sauna are in the basement. The location is very good, because the ropeway station is in walking distance (300m) and the city centre with shops, restaurants and caffes too. We like the Betty cafe with panetaria. If you want go to other ski resorts, the ski bus stoped in 150 m from the hotel. In appearance to the location and service is the value of a week vacation very good, but not a 4 star level.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 1 st. floor. It is near to the ski room, breakfast room and to the pool.
