Stopped here for food after walking. Had a burger with local blue cheese. It was very tasty and well prepared. Service is attentive but not overly warm. Would eat here again as the chips were amazing.

We eat at the gathering quite often and the food is fantastic. We had fish and chips and scampi all served with a smile and cooked well. The only downside to the visit was we were told they are not serving food in the bar now. It's a shame because we bar is a lot more comfy than the cafe. I hope the next time we go the bar will be open. Great staff and great food.

Me and my husband ate at the Gathering on 20th June 2018 to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were staying nearby in our caravan - I wish I had stayed in the caravan! The staff were shockingly miserable. During the evening we were served by 2 female waitresses from which we received no welcoming smiles throughout the evening. We were served with our drinks but my husband said his drink tasted funny so he asked politely if it could be changed. The waitress looked at him and asked him what he meant so he explained and she took it away - no apologies. She came back later (still no smile) and said "would you like to choose another, the bar man agrees with you". No apology, no smile. Would she have changed it if the bar man hadn't agreed? Meanwhile, I was reading the menu when the waitress quickly flipped it over and abruptly said "your'e looking at the wrong menu". We were served with the food (which was very good - so compliments to the chef). A different waitress brought our meals and just held out the plates in front of us so that I had to point at which was mine - she may have been unable to speak English or she may have been mute - we will never know as she made no attempt to communicate with us throughout the night. At no time during the evening were we asked if everything was ok with our meals. My husband's beer glass was empty and the voiceless waitress walked past and picked it up. I had a mouthful left to drink - she stood at the side and waited for me to finish so that she could take it away. We weren't asked if we wanted another. Our plates were quickly taken away too but we weren't asked if we wanted a dessert. We decided we would go and drink our own drinks in the caravan as we felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome. We asked for the bill from the voiceless waitress who looked blankly at us, again no smile. My husband repeated his request for the bill. The other waitress came and put it on the table. We paid and left. So sorry The Glencoe Gathering, we won't be coming back. You have a very good chef but your service is very poor and lets you down. It wasn't even busy and even if it was it doesn't take much effort to smile. Your staff need urgent customer awareness training or you need to get rid of your present staff and replace with new.

We went for a meal at the gathering on our first night in Glencoe but didn't eat there again for the rest of our stay, The food was OK but that is the best that can be said about it, it's pub grub at restaurant prices, the building itself has little or no atmosphere and has the feel of a campsite cafe, the bar was poorly staffed and again expensive, we found much better places to eat and have a drink a short drive away at more acceptable prices.

Unfriendly, unhelpful staff, the place is dirty, smelt of 'off' fish, and had a weird uncomfortable atmosphere. We sat outside to drink our coffee, we wanted to eat but due to the state of the place we just had coffee. Coffee was expensive for what it was and also cold! We asked for an ashtray and was told to 'just flick it anywhere', the water bowl put down for dogs was full of cigarette butts and there was a bag of old rubbish next to it ..... A girl came out eventually with an ashtray with butts in and plonked it on our table.... The toilets were really dirty - the whole experience there sucked. It looks like no one could be bothered to make the effort and that's a shame. Not recommended.
