Very unique place, someone cutting up fish in the back, very fresh. Service a bit slow, but the food was good

We went for lunch. I had the Red Royals because so many on here recommended them. I agree that it tasted like lobster...even had the lobster texture. They were seasoned well. My husband got the tile fingers and onion rings, which he liked a lot. Friendly atmosphere. Would definitely go back!

Stopped in last weekend late evening. Was somewhat busy. Back patio full. I'd read and heard the service was slow. But it was worse than i expected. They just plain don't have enough people working. Two girls running around, clearly working hard with just too much to do to be expected to do anything well. And the place is kinda dive beach bar themed, which i like, but it isn't cheap. And the food...

Boiled/steamed royal red shrimp. They were the one thing that was really good. Cooked well. Not sure if they're that much better or worth what they cost, but the price seemed reasonable compared to other places.

Blackened grouper sandwich. Good enough. Not great. The fish was fresh. I'd asked for tartar and hot sauce. Was told there was a hot sauce bar inside. Never got tartar. I literally spent 10 minutes inside trying to get some tartar. Then said I'd settle for mayo. Eventually a nice older gentleman found some mayonnaise. Not sure if he worked there or not, he didn't seem to know where anything was.

Fried fish fingers, supposedly tilefish. Everything was bland. And lukewarm & soggy. Like it'd sat in s fryer basket sheet it was cooked for 15 minutes. It was worse than Long John Silver's.

Grilled asparagus. It was terrible. I've never seen anything so burnt actually served to someone. Almost completely charcoal black. When you touched it black ash actually flaked off and puffed up in the air. The burnt smell was so bad we pushed it to the edge of the table.

Had a draft beer from the local Dunedin Brewery. It tasted like a combination of dirty tap lines, and the remnants of a Budweiser product that was probably previously hooked up. It was terrible.

They were so scrambled and weeded it didn't seem worth complaining. I'd watched two other tables with issues, and the server was as nice as she could be, but basically just said she could get another dish, but couldn't guarantee it'd be any better, lol. So we finally paid and left. $90 for that.

I'll never go back.
