Here again for our annual trip to Umbria and as ever a trip to the Basilica Restaurant is a must.
The place was busier than ever with locals and tourists but we always got a table, fortunately we are remembered from previous years and always looked after.
The menu has expanded slightly and had more meat dishes on the menu. Local specials of Rabbit and Pidgeon were also available.
However we stuck to the main diet of Pasta and 15" Pizzas for mains with the usual Italian starters and simple but superb deserts, the Panna Cotta is a local favourite. The wine choice is mainly local and 10 Euros will get you a good bottle.
I cannot recommend this place enough if you want good local food, simple cooked with a bottle of wine.
The value is excellent, 2 starters, mains and deserts with a bottle of wine and water followed by a Grappa and coffee will not cost more that 65 Euros, Tremendous value.
