I think that feedback from previous guests' experiences has been taken seriously by the resort. This is Queensland and of course you are going to see cockroaches of varying sizes, dead or alive, it is a fact of life. I've seen them at the Hilton, the little buggers aren't fussy! As soon as you leave Melbourne, the atomic critters rear their ugly heads. So, the place has been extensively sprayed and only 2 small ones (one dead and one which died by the shoe slam!) during the entire 7 nights. That's not bad going! Yes, the place is older with cheap furniture and TV, but clean. Seriously for the price you pay, a full apartment for under $80 is awesome value. The wifi was fast and free, Foxtel, washer, dryer, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, hairdryer. The bed was comfortable. The aircon worked well and I would rather stay here than a backpacker place. The shower had good pressure too. The spa was a bit cold, we did ask for it to be turned up, but it wasn't. This is the only negative. I think the owners are doing a great job and if you know what to expect, you'll be happy. If you're after hotel service and quality, you'll be disappointed. If you're after a great value, well located, self service place to do some cooking, you'll be glad you booked here. I'm not sure if there would be enough parking if the place were full. We went in shoulder season.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms as there are no lifts

I stayed here in early February and went to reception to advise of special requests for my upcoming grandparents stay in the middle of February including payment instructions to pay the balance by cash on arrival. They hardly listened to me when I was telling the asian lady owner the details, I assumed she had taken note, apparently not. My grandparents got charged on their card with a $78 conversion fee which the property will not refund, this is A LOT of $ to retired 80 year olds not to mention the stress it caused my poor grandmother. They have failed to reply to emails about this and refuse to refund even though it is their error- greedy! ALSO - During my stay, there was a handful of long female hair on top and under the pillow on the bed - YUCK and also hair on the shower wall. Not even sure it had been cleaned properly at all! It took 2 days to get a courier package delivered to my room after fake promises and poor office hours during weekends. The shower door broke during my grandparents stay and it took days to get it fixed with no communication from the managers at all. Would NOT recommend this property unless you don't mind finding lots of hair in your bed or shower and don't mind getting ripped off. There are better aussie run properties in the area!

We weren't planning on spending the night at Broadbeach but after a very long, fantastic Christmas lunch we decided that we must stay. Up came Aruba Surf Resort on Tripadvisor and we booked straight away. Got a great last minute deal. Was well within walking distance from Broadbeach shops and cafes (250 metres give or take) and well within walking distance to the beach. The room we stayed in was very clean and had all we needed for the night. We will definitely be returning again.

Right on the corner of Surf Parade so, easy to walk to restaurants, beach, shops everything! I was worried it would be very noisy but not at all. Underground parking easy and a bonus. The room was very well maintained, clean and well appointed. Great internet free for 3 days too. Great kitchen with dishwasher and big bathroom with laundry. We will definitely return to these lovely owners and their staff.

Great location. Really neat and clean. Provided Foxtel, wifi, washing machine, dryer and full kitchen. So ticked all the boxes for us. The only negative was that the pool didn’t look appealing. Not sure what is was but it looked green. And we didn’t have blackout curtains in our room. The sun comes up at 5am in Queensland and were awake at 4.30 each morning... not fun.

Thank you for your review, lovely to hear you enjoyed the location and everything was neat and clean. The pool is cleaned and balanced every morning, the pebble crete of the pool is a teal colour which does reflect in the water.
We hope to see you again,
Tessara & Benjamin
