I'll split this review up in a few different categories to help you out..

This was my first time in Santorini and I was kind of disappointed with this hotel. I was misguided with the hotel pictures as they used pictures from the MED beach palace hotel. My room looked nothing like it did online.

Transportation/Location:
My friend and I came from the ferry port...If you are as well, I'd suggest perhaps renting a car depending on how long you're staying and what you plan on doing, as the hotel is about 25 minutes away (yet about 5 mins away from the airport) I was very annoyed that we had to pay 20 euros to get there and 15 euros to the airport upon departure (considering how close the airport is.It was ridiculous but they supposedly only have fixed prices for taxis) To get into town (Fira) you have to spend another 16 euros roundtrip per person, per day for a shuttle. Be aware of the travel times... not very frequent and they suggest you pay/request 30 mins prior) The hotel is also in a weird location with nothing around.

Customer Service:
There is only 1 person working at front desk. It can be frustrating when there is a line up of people waiting to be checked in or who have a question. Upon arrival there was a slight line but receptionist was very pleasant. Throughout our stay however, both male & female receptionists seemed very annoyed when my friend and I had questions or requested a service. They were very cold/ rude.

Food:
Breakfast was included. Good variety and tasted good. Pleasant & friendly staff there. For dinner or lunch you have to walk to the other hotel restaurants. (There is a surcharge if you don't have an all inclusive package) There is also a little market away from the hotel that you can buy snacks etc. Our first night we walked to one of the other hotel restaurants and it was terrible , but the last night we came across the Mediterranean Beach Palace and it was beautiful! So much nicer and the food was amazing. I recommend eating there, if not in town. (walk all the way to the end of the road)

Wifi:
The wifi was soon bad. Didn't get connection in the lobby and in the room was worse. Literally had to walk around or go outside to get signal or send one message.

Excursions:
Don't buy online or from the hotel. There are many exclusion shops in Fira you can ask around or, like my friend and I did.. at the mini market by the hotel they sell packages for cheap. We did a hot springs, volcano , Oia Sunset and Thirassia excursion for 38 euros per person.

Lastly, be aware, there is no ATM around. You have to take out cash when in Kamari or Fira etc. Hope this helps!

Styled as a 5 star hotel but in reality did not live up to its title. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It has a wonderful pool area with a swim up bar!!! The rooms were comfortable but did not have any coffee making facilities (although we were given a kettle when we asked). We asked for an iron and ironing board but were told they had no ironing board! The duty manager said they don't provide boards 'Due to safety reasons' and that many people ask for a board but we will not provide one. His attitude was very dismissive and unpleasant which was unfortunate as it tainted our memory.
You can use the facilities of their sister resort which is next door and has access to the beach. It also has a good restaurant with Greek nights and so on.

This was our first time to Santorini. Read the reviews and thought what have done. But wow what an Hotel. Were ever you are on the Island you will hear the aircraft but to our surprise the noise was not intrusive. The staff were great and went out of there way to help you have a great holiday. Georgina on the front desk was great and greeted us every time with a happy hello Mr Paul and Mrs Pam . great cocktails from the bar gang. Vasili,Joanna and Theo. Will love to go back. One of the best holidays we have had. Went October 2017.

This review and many others below are mixed according to which hotel you stay at.

We chose to be all inclusive.

Anyone booking at the Mediterranean White like us should be aware that the promotional photographs depict the sister hotel Mediterranean Beach which is approximately 300 metres walk away via a poorly lit road without pavements. This is where you go for lunch and dinner.

On arrival at the Mediterranean White the receptionist greeted us as you would expect and gave us a brief description of the hotel. During the conversation she mentioned that this was her last day at the hotel. To us this meant 'alarm bells'. Listening to the complaints over the week it is not a job anyone would want. The replacement receptionist was unhelpful and let all complaints go over her head, she seemed to spend most of her time internet shopping.

Our room was very basic and very tired (not dirty) in appearance but functional. The room was unfortunately located below the reception/breakfast area and we were woken each morning between 06.00 and 07.00 by the noise of chairs and tables being dragged across marble by cleaning staff. If only they would have lifted them! Hot water was non existent in the evenings. There was no Wi-fi or 4G access and the phone signal was intermittent in our room so inboxes could not be cleared before the start of the day. The Wi-fi signal at the Mediterranean Beach where we spent most of our time however, was excellent.

Breakfast was at the Mediterranean White the choice was good. The only complaint is that the items in the buffet style cooked breakfast were often cold.

Lunch and evening meal were served at The Mediterranean Beach.

The food was reasonable but not as adventurous as other all inclusive hotels and no nightly themes. A menu board detailing evening menus would have been good. As the week went on we agreed that the selection became monotonous and there is no way we could have stayed there for two weeks.

Given our comments about Mediterranean White we would question any suggestion of four star status, on what we received it would be 2/3 so they are in effect using the star rating of Mediterranean Beach. We cannot comment on Mediterranean Beach as did not see the rooms but all other facilities were reasonable.

The most important comment about these hotels is whether what we received was genuinely all inclusive. To protect all on a budget it is time a definition of all inclusive whether it be per country or worldwide by tour operator or hotel is created so there are no surprises. The objective of all inclusive for many is to control spending. This is not possible when we encountered:-

Snacks outside of meal times are charged.
All inclusive only operates between 10.00 and 22.00
Bar selection is limited to local beer, wine and a few local spirits including ouzo.
Water is chargeable at the bar (a large bottle is left in the room daily foc)
Cocktail and spirit prices reflect those of top London hotels.
Beach towels are charged each time you seek a replacement.

It would be quite easy to accrue an invoice in excess of 100 euros per person per week which we have never encountered at other inclusive hotels throughout the world.

The location of these hotels is remote and to visit the main areas requires transport, car rental is reasonable at 30 euros per day. Quad bikes are the choice of many but check your holiday insurance as many policies do not cover quad bikes. Furthermore on collection video/photo all, a young German gentleman was charged 100 euros by a very aggressive quad rental company for a small scratch.

Our flight was not departing until 21.00 so we asked to keep our rooms after the 12.00 check out. Without checking this was met with an unhelpful no. We found out later that some of the new guests were arriving on our departing plane so there would have been at least three hours to prepare the room.

Reception failed to advise many that there were two shower rooms by the pool to use between check out and departure. Whilst we were made aware late on departure day of these rooms when we tried to use them but the doors were locked so we thought they were occupied. Nobody told us that the keys were kept behind the bar, it was only by chance that we found this out and it was that late that only two of us had time to use these rooms. For information there was no hot water.

On departure Santorini airport is too small for the volume of people it needs to process so anyone with an aversion to crowds, small spaces or heat please be warned.

Overall we took a chance on a very reasonable internet offer for four adults to have a second holiday, the weather was good and as we could use The Mediterranean White as just a bed all was acceptable. If others were thinking of a two week main holiday in high season then the advice would be to proceed with caution. After visiting the main areas of Santorini it appears that it is a rather exclusive and expensive place so this hotel can offer a cheaper alternative for those desperate to visit this island.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms under the reception / restaurant areas top floor would be good

I am at present in The Mediterranean White Hotel. Good location. Close to the airport. You will have to hire a Quad or car. Beautiful place. The hotel is very nice. Class pool. Good breakfast. Clean rooms but very basic. TV is vintage. Got 4 Channels & most don't work. It keeps freezing & the wifi is completely useless. Sister hotel serves evening meals & if your not inclusive they charge €50 for a buffet for 2. No drinks included. They charge €1 for a glass of water.
