WIsh i was still here !

Great place for families , could have just spent days around the pool and playground here but we had bought themepark tickets and treasure island is a great location to stay for access to these - only a short drive to all of them.

Plenty of activities for the kids, the rooms are great (stayed in a lagoon deluxe villa)

Highly recommend and will return when next on the Gold Coast

Room Tip: If staying in a Lagoon Deluxe Villa - the ones at the back are tucked away a bit from the pool - if...

My near 9 year old son and I had been planning and looking forward to our holiday to see 3 Theme Parks and the Australia zoo staying at Treasure Island for a year and we weren't disappointed. We were able to access reasonably costing transport to the theme parks [which we visited twice maximising our VIP pass] and were provided with information on a service that could transport us to the Australia zoo on the Sunshine Coast after a staff member did an internet search on our behalf.
Treasure Island provided ample activities for us to do on our return from our day trips which we could choose based on our energy levels. We stayed in an ensuite cabin which suited our needs perfectly - well equipped with a range of options for cooking and comfort.
What for us was an indulgent 10 day holiday given our means as a single parent family, a holiday with flights that we don't embark on very often, we would highly recommend Treasure Island as a family holiday destination that is good value and guaranteed to please.

Room Tip: ensuite cabin near the restaurant is close to security lighting so can be difficult to sleep if affe...

Overall, the park, we felt, is over-rated. The astro turfed concrete slab for our camper, was the best bit. Powered sites are a bit on the exy side. Our view from our camp site was a concrete and colourbond fence, hiding the maintenance shed. The other side of our camp site, were other campers, of which we had to walk thru their site to get to the amenities - which we felt rude doing.
As others have said, extra activities weren't free. This was a let down. We've stayed at other Big 4's were the same activities have been free. Kids Club, I guess would have been ok (we didn't use it), and it all depended on when you were staying....some activities way better than others. Again not free, where other Kids Clubs have been (a note to parents here, Kids Club statement says 'they are not a baby sitting service therefore encourage parents to stay and interact with your child/ren whilst at the club'.....which is fine and fair enough......but if parents were thinking they could send 'little johnny' off to enjoy himself with others, while you grab a quiet drink or rest for an hour, think again. As I mentioned, we camped, but while looking around the park and using two of the pools, I'm glad we didn't pay the money for any of the villas or cabins. These were situated right on top of (basically) the pools. No rest or daytime sleeps for mum or dad.....too noisy! I will say that the pool areas and spas were done very nicely. Tropical trees and gardens made it nice. Way too much clorine in the spas and pools thou. My sons eyes burnt after and hour and hair was green in 2 days! (yes, he did wash with shampoo each night). We had the buffet dinner at Galleons on saturday night. It was just 'ok'. The food on offer was quite nice, but there was no dessert except fruit salad. Admitedly, the kids were given a complimentery juice and a billabong paddlepop....both of which can be bought at the corner store any day of the week. The sushi in the buffet was packed with wasabi....the first time I've come across sushi in a buffet with wasabi already added. Soy sauce was in a jug next to it. I love sushi, but my tongue and gall stones didn't love the only roll I was able to eat. The amenities were we were camped we lovely and clean. Nice hot showers. Other amenities (near the pool) were rather out dated and 'doggy'. We weren't entirely sure why they decided to call the park 'treasure island'. We thought there would have been a lot more reference to things like pirates or ships, the ocean etc etc???? So, for the money we paid, we weren't that impressed. Seeing pictures, reading reviews etc of this Big 4, we left saying 'Big Deal'.

We went away with 5 other families and stayed in the Delux Villa's. Between us all there were 11 children and every one of them had an absolute ball. It was very relaxing where the children could ride around on their scooters but don't forget your helmet if you are bringing a bike or scooter as the park are very strict about road safety. The pool was excellent and even us parents enjoyed the slide and hot tubs. The jumping pillow was a huge hit as the children could have a heap of fun while us parents could sit on the deck and watch them while we either brought our own drinks or ordered one from the bar. Room facilities were clean and tea/coffee was supplied as well as enough dishwashing liquid. The kids club was well run, and it gave us parents a chance to pop over to Harbourtown for a coffee and stroll around the shops. Would definately recommend this Big 4 Park.....looking forward to our next trip there.
