From first arriving, stunning foyer area, lovely spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, exactly as described. Delicious food, unlike some all inclusive buffets I have experienced, the food was constantly replenished and freshened so the food never looked tired or ran out. The pool area was beautiful, and the spa was a real treat.

Currently staying at the Gaviotas Playa and we can’t find fault in the fantastic service and facilities offered by Pepe, Paula and all the staff. It is a couple of years since we were here last but the standards and attention to detail still impressed. Total quality management benefits all guests. Special mention to Rubin in the restaurant who works tirelessly to ensure everyone is totally satisfied. This hotel has to be the best on the island.

Four years ago, this hotel on the island of Fuerteventura had no competitors for the price / quality ratio. However, the price increases year by year, and the quality standards and attitudes to the guests, primarily through the fault of the management of this hotel, are falling ...
In 2017, there was another problem - you can be stolen anything: things, clothes, money, phone, laptop ... right from your room. Therefore, if you still choose the Iberostar Playa Gaviotas Park, be very careful, hide everything to the maximum in the safe. Unfortunately, this year, it happened to me. My clothes was stolen from the closed room straight from the wardrobe hanger. The hotel management in the person of Mr. Miguel [--] openly ignores such cases and covers thieves. In my case, when I requested to Mr. Miguel [--] to solve this situation, my family was frankly mocked and tried to make our stay in the hotel unbearable (for example, as a decision, Mr. [--] wanted to evict us from the hotel !!! or leave our room without cleaning until the end of the stay !! !, and for the hotel staff, under pain of dismissal, he forbade to provide us any help !!!)
Several months of correspondence with the management of the Iberostar network, to my great regret, did not bring any results. Mr. Miguel [--] not only did not apologize to my family, not only did not incur any punishment, but on the contrary - he was promoted ...
To be honest, at this moment, I am completely at a loss and I can't understand what I should to do next ... How I can defend my rights? Is there any authorities in Spain that should monitor the quality of tourist service?
On the other hand, I would like to thank all the waiters, bartenders, hotel reception employees who are doing everything possible and impossible to make the hotel guests feel at home.

We are saddened by the impression that you have received of our hotel and our management team during your stay with us. We are very surprised by your comments as we have no similar reports to yours. We would like to mention that we have complete confidence in all of our staff members who are selected following strict criteria and we take care of their continued training in order to guarantee the high standards that characterize our company. However, we are sorry for the inconvenience and upset that this incident has caused you.


Furthermore, we are saddened that despite our best efforts we could not completely satisfy you. Although we followed our protocol exactly which involves checking who has entered the room with our professional team, using electronic evidence and confirming that no objects had been mistakenly collected with laundry during the cleaning process, furthermore our external laundry service could confirm that no articles had been delivered in the laundry.


On the other hand, we appreciate your kind words towards our staff, whose kindness and helpfulness is one of our hotel's greatest strengths and we will definitely congratulate them all on your behalf for their contribution to your wellbeing whilst staying among us and we are certainly very proud of them all.

This resort is just brilliant ..... our room overlooks the pool area and is ideally placed for the restaurant, pool bar and exit on to the path leading to the beach .... vast lovely golden sand ... the weather has been around 24 to 25 degrees each day... which is great. Nice walk along the road which runs parallel to the beach leads to a wide variety of shops and from Monday to Thursday there is a great little market.... well worth a visit or two .... Back at the resort, the selection of food available at both breakfast, lunch and dinner is amazing, the quality is second to none and all freshly made .... cannot recommend this resort highly enough.... will definitely be returning ..... luckily for me I’m still here until Tuesday ....YAY

Just returned from a break at the Gaviotas Park (Resort) and had a wonderful time. The weather was exceptional which was a bonus. The hotel was very friendly and clean and the staff were without exception lovely. We were celebrating an anniversary and this was recognised by the hotel with a surprise gift awaiting us on arrival. Most things have already been noted by other reviewers but a few things to note before booking: The video and 95% of the photographs on the Thomas Cook website are of the Gaviotas PLAYA not the Gaviotas PARK (Resort): and the majority of those, including the video, show the Premier sections of the pool areas which are not accessible to 'regular' guests. The spa look wonderful but was an additional cost - a mere $15 for two hours but this, along with the gym, was a very underused facility - I only saw three people in the spa and a couple in the gym the whole time we were there. Would have been nice to have had one visit included in the cost of the holiday at least. Being able to use both hotels was wonderful – we preferred to sunbathe and take lunch in the pool bar at the PARK (Resort) but didn’t take to the restaurant or the outdoor evening terrace. The restaurant was very dark, hot and crowded (although no complaints about the amazing food!) the terrace for breakfast and evenings were soon full of clouds of cigarette smoke as there were no fans on the ceiling and nowhere for the smoke to dissipate. There were also a lot of people vaping. An outdoor eating area for non-smokers would be great. The terrace at the PLAYA was gorgeous with uninterrupted views of the beach and sea. The sunbathing terrace here was beautiful but far too crowded with people having to shimmy sideways between the beds to access them – they were full so obviously needed, but much more relaxing over at the PARK. We had most of our evening meals at the PLAYA which, in comparison, was like eating in a very nice restaurant compared to a works canteen. So all in all beautiful hotel(s) with amazing food and branded drinks – I have never had consistently better in any hotel – in a beautiful location. We would go again tomorrow if we had the opportunity providing we had the use of both hotels!

Room Tip: Rooms at the front get very hot but better views
