Stayed for 10 days and could not fault it the staff everybody marvellous. Great entertainment in the pavilion and the monkey bar. The rooms very clean and always tidy. The food excellent I being Coeliac was presented with a list of what not to have every night clearly marked contains gluten. The breakfast was excellent they even had a toaster for Gluten bread only. Enjoyed every minute.

Writing this review on the last day of our stay at the Coronas Playas. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11 night stay. Staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcome and Tui reps work really hard to keep guests entertained. We upgraded to a select room ( definately worth it) with sun loungers which were a real asset on windy days. Can’t believe the negative reviews - so what if soap is in a dispenser - it must save a lot of plastic! Will definately be returning (hopefully in the not too distant future) .

Room Tip: Select upgrade rooms are worth the extra!

I've taken a while before writing this review as I feel a little embarrassed that I didn't enjoy my stay as much as everyone else whose reviews seems to rave about the place.
Check in was fine with a free glass of Cava (we were all inclusive ?). We were disappointed with our Select Suite with Sea View and Terrace , very basic for a gold hotel , it was very clean, have stayed in better 3 star. Don't pay for upgrade as there are better sea views from some of the standard rooms. The sea view we booked was poor from our Select Suite because there was a wall in front of patio blocking the view, ok if you stood up but still poor (see photo).patio area directly in front of room didn't get much sun later in the day.
The bathroom was very basic for a gold room, soaps & shampoo in dispensers, very budget style. The shower was not very powerful and it was in the bath with a curtain not a glass panel.
Pools were immaculately clean but very cold, however, we did venture in everyday. We used the bottom pool as there seemed to be a bit more life there. Quite a few damaged tiles could do with being replaced. Both pool bars great for drinks and snacks.
Breakfast was very good I like my full breakfast so was very happy.
Lunch was very disappointing it was like a school cafeteria with basic burgers or omelettes and they still got my order wrong only ate there once, the bar snacks were better.
Evening meals were good always found something tasty to eat. Had themed nights but the menu didn’t change much from each theme.
Evening entertainment was very much like a Butlins camp and some not that good. We only went to the pavilion twice but the racket coming from there was enough to put you off going in. Spent most evenings in the Monkey Bar very pleasant but a tad boring, only on one evening was there entertainment, a pianist.
All the staff were pleasant and happy to help, form the cleaning staff to the catering crew, couldn’t fault them.
We are only in our late forties/early fifties but we felt quite youthful compared to the majority of the other guests there. Sometimes it felt we were at a care home.
To summarise there was not a lot wrong with the hotel but it was a little jaded and lacked the wow factor for the price that we paid.
We won’t be returning.

Room Tip: don't upgrade to Select Suite with Sea View and Terrace not worth the extra

First time in Lanzarote, chose this hotel because of the “adult” theme. An absolute gem. Two pools and plenty of sun loungers. We opted for a garden suite with its own terrace with loungers. Large living room with sofa, kettle, fridge and tv. WiFi router in the room so was easy to connect. Large double bedroom with two wardrobes. Bathroom also spacious. Air con in living room and bedroom. Restaurant is buffet style with a great choice.
Staff are great and this is the first TUI hotel to have an independent “local” expert. (Chris) she tells you everything about the resort and takes you on surrounding walks and taxi trips, where the chemist is, doctors, chemist, bus stops, anything and everything.( all hotels should have an independent expert) *****
