A good option to stay in Wuzhen. It's outside the scenic areas, but only about 5 minutes walk away from the East side and less than 10 minutes from the West side. The hotel was a bit difficult to find as there isn't a street sign for the road, and the map from booking.com showed the location on the wrong side of the road. If you're coming from the bus station, cross the bridge over the river and go down to the left-side lane next to the bridge.

Only 183 RMB a night for the deluxe room on the 3rd (2nd) floor, which was lovely. Very nicely furnished. Brand new modern ensuite bathroom with powerful shower, large four poster bed, and sitting area for tea. Quiet aircon, tv, tea making facility. Very very clean. Wifi was free and fairly fast. Noise from the road was noticeable when the town gets moving around 6am, but it was fine.

A family run hotel. The couple didn't speak any English at all, but we got by with our minimal Chinese, some hand gestures & pointing at our phrase book. They were friendly, and gave us a lift back to the bus station upon checking out.

No breakfast as far as we could tell, but there are plenty of food stalls and shops in the vicinity.

Would stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights during the peak summer season.
Location of Jinghanghe is ideal, about 200m to the entrance of DongZha (East Scenic Area) and 600m (still manageable by walking) to XiZha (West Scenic Area).
I reached Wuzhen after 8pm. Upon calling the hotel, the owner fetched me to the hotel in his car. The hotel is actually a 4 storey building with guest rooms from 2nd to 4th storey. I was offered a room at 4th storey decorated in traditional Chinese style, complete with bed with bedposts and curtains! My room was clean and quite spacious but does not have a wardrobe. There is a coat hanger though. Bathroom is clean & spacious. The hot water works and water pressure is pretty good. Room also has many electrical power sockets – so no problem for simultaneously charging lap-tops and mobile phones. The air con is cold – a good thing as I visited during mid-summer where the daytime temperature is hot and extremely humid. The LED TV has many channels, but mostly Chinese programmes.
There is no food outlet within the hotel but this is not a problem as there are many good (& cheap) eateries about 200m away along the street just outside the Dongzha (East Scenic Area) entrance. The hotel is very near to the Janghanghe River & you have to cross this river to get to the Dongzha area. The view of Jinghanghe River from my 4th storey corner room is actually not too bad. There is also a small night market right in front of the hotel that operates from 7pm to 11pm.
The only gripe is that there is NO lift, thus hauling luggage up 4 storeys may be a challenge to some guests. It is a family run hotel with 2 star rating, so don’t expect room service at midnight. The owners are very helpful and personable – dispensing advice on how to navigate Wuzhen (actually better to explore by foot), how not to be ripped off by the roadside food stalls, locations of recommended restaurants / eateries, Wuzhen food specialties (the Hong-Shau Lamb is a must try) and how to proceed to Hangzhou or Shanghai. The owner also fetched me (for free) to the Wuzhen bus station upon my check-out and gave valuable advice on bus fare and bus schedule.
The room is value for money. I would be staying her again should I visit Wuzhen in future.

Room tip: 4th storey rooms got views of Jinhanghe river. No lift, choose rooms on lower floors for those with difficulty in climbing stairs.

There is a similarly named hotel in the West scenic area, but this inn is located OUTSIDE of the scenic areas. If you are looking to stay in the scenic area, this is not the one.
However, I would give it credit that the location is very convenient (10 mins walk to the West scenic area and 5 mins walk to the East scenic area). Since it is located outside of the scenic areas, the price is really cheap. We only paid RMB130++ for a one night stay in a standard 2 single bed room.
The hotel owner is really helpful too. He explained to us about the main attractions in the scenic areas, what to look out for, and approximately how long it would take to tour the whole area. Ultimately, this helped us plan our trip better. He also fetched us to the bus station for free on the day we left Wuzhen.

Room tip: Request for a room on the lower levels if you have a lot of luggages as they do not have an elevator.

My son and spent one night at this hotel when we went to Wuzhen. It's a family business and they are all very friendly. The father came to pick us up at the bus station. The son speaks english and provided us with all information we needed. He was also very nice not charching the noshow fee, as i messed up with the check in dates.

Room tip: I wish we had a lower floor (we were on the 4th floor)
