Visited here in May 2019 and stayed in Lake view room C6 ,view was really awesome it was really good trip , only advice to hotel is please make your enterance more clean specially during rain as your staff focus more on cleaning your front desk and it made many persons slip during rain.

I visited Nainital with my wife recently and stayed in hotel Himalaya..it has the best location among all hotels in Nainital. Staff was also very good and cooperative..we both had excellent stay and I recommend all to stay at this hotel..

I had planned to stay at the hotel for 4 nights but just soon after checking in realised about justification to its price and amenities i checked out after 2nd day of my stay..i found the hotel not at all value for money... complimentary breakfast was very nice...but the rooms are dearth of amenities for the price being charged and rooms are not at all maintained like shower in my room was not working properly and bathroom was full of small inscets...staff is courtious..and there baker’s hut pineapple cake was awsome..

This is my second review of the same property. First one was back in September 2013. Now why I am saying poor, just because of the two experiences. 5 years back this hotel was a really great place to stay. But things have been changed since then; the hotel is filthy, resources are used to fully extended which includes, entire property. Looks like they have abandoned the words like “value for money”, “renovation”, “maintenance” and “overall serviceability”.
It's a bad choice if you are looking for cleanliness, value for money, good ambiance and good experience other than proximity to the lake. Not a good choice, book something else, they prioritize Walk-in customers over online booked customers. All the Lake View room are not what you expect it to be. Staff behavior is okay but not clean or hygienic.

The hotel has changed a lot in those 5 years; NOT Recommended.

Room tip: "C" category rooms are good

We stayed on 23rd and 24th June in this property in cottage rooms . The room was very nice , the best part was the view of lake from the rooms(C1, C2) . There were sitting area outside the room where we enjoyed tea and other beverages.
The mini golf is unique in nature and nice experience .
Buffet food served was good and had enough options . Perfect heritage family hotel 100+ years old .
Reception received us really very well , special mention for Nitesh who helped us settle well and comfortably in the hotel .

Room tip: choose the cottage rooms C1 , C2 or you can take rooms on the top
