What an incredible time I recently had spending 10 days at Medina Palms with a group of friends! The hotel really is THE Kenyan coast destination! Nowhere offers such complete luxury whilst maintaining a welcoming/homely atmosphere thanks to the very friendly staff. The villas and (huge) swimming pools are set-back from the coast offering some seclusion but you are still 30 seconds walk from the shoreline where you can watch the fishing boats coming home whilst drinking a tusker beer. Other highlights include the amazing restaurant food (with a huge menu) which includes an array of fresh sea food and delicious pasta.

Room Tip: Some rooms/villas include rooftop plunge pool/hot tubs!

I stayed at the Medina Palms hotel for a total of 10 days and it was fantastic! The hotel itself is beautiful, carefully laid out, with lots of different areas - so you get a real variety of places to eat/sunbathe! With Watamu beach on the doorstep there is plenty to explore outside of the hotel too.

The people working there are completely charming, never failing to offer a cheerful "Jambo!" accompanied by an enormous grin! They are always eager to please and were flawless in their attention and service.

We stayed in one of the villas which was very comfortable and had great views out to sea. The star attraction of the villa setup, was the roof top terrace which had a cool breeze running through it and great views. We ate several times with a private chef on said terrace.

The food in the hotel was delicious and provided a great variety. We had everything from sushi to currys, freshly caught fish to fry-ups! It never failed to entertain the taste buds and it was always reasonably priced.

All in all a perfect stay and would love to go back!

Room Tip: Go for a villa - you won't be disappointed!

From beginning to end, our trip to Medina Palms was idyllic. We stayed in a villa overlooking the top pool of the three and could not have felt more relaxed and comfortable throughout our stay. All of the staff went out of their way to ensure we had a wonderful time.

We arrived at 3am but there was still a number of people up and willing to assist with our bags. For the rest of the trip, moving from the pool to the restaurant to the beach, every member of the team was friendly and helpful without being imposing - nothing seemed too much!

There is so much greenery everywhere and the gardens are beautifully maintained. We got in a wonderful routine of popping our things on a lounger and within seconds someone would arrive with a fresh towel - unbelievable service!

The villas are perfectly laid out, feeling very spacious, well equipped and with plenty of places to relax. Each day, the whole place was cleaned and freshened up with the mosquito nets being tied up in the day and brought down in the evening - all so we could be completely comfortable throughout the day.

There are windsurfs and kayaks available to use and I had a couple of great lessons with Alphonse who was incredibly patient and helpful! The gym is also well equipped and very accessible.

I could not fault a single lunch or dinner we had in the restaurant. The menu is extensive but perfectly varied with lots of opportunities to sample fresh seafood as well as varying cuisines. The homemade pasta is utterly delicious and I will dream about the crab samosas for months to come!

I really could not have enjoyed the 10 days I had at Medina Palms more. I felt totally relaxed, utterly spoilt and beautifully looked after. I would recommend it to anyone!

I returned to Medina Palms last month with a group of friends and we have the most wonderful time. The hotel looked after us beautifully and did an amazing job at coordinating a number of activities and meals for such a large group. The villas are all so well decorated and we had an extremely comfortable and relaxing stay. I also visited the spa and had an amazing deep tissue massage, highly recommended!

I couldn't have enjoyed my stay at Medina Palms more. The whole experience was completely wonderful. Our unit was beautiful and immaculate, masses of space and a great roof top area. The hotel is beautiful - lots of greenery and flowers which was lovely and made it feel very peaceful. There was a great mix of being able to relax by the pool and also fun activities like windsurfing and kayaking. The spa was heavenly and my massage very relaxing. The restaurant was amazing too - delicious food and we also had a chef cooking in our unit which was brilliant. The staff were absolutely lovely and incredibly friendly which really made the trip. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
