This ocean front resort advertises luxury accommodations. Upon arrival (two hours after posted check-in time) our room was not clean although we were given a key. The bed was unmaid and the room smelled of soured laundry. We reported these issues to the front desk and left the hotel to check-in later, at which time we found that the manager/owner had given the room a quick once over but apparently had not vacuumed (there were crumbs all over the floors) and the smell was still present. We are fairly certain the toilet was not cleaned at all, but if it was, someone had used it prior to our second arrival and after the "cleaning."

On the second day of our stay, our room was not vacuumed, and although the bed was made, the offensive odor never disappeared.

After reporting the situation, we were offered no credit, no compensation, no options, and no apology. This hotel charges guests for late check out (which we did not request) but they offered nothing for the inconvenience of a late check-in.

While the location of this property is nice, do not expect cleanliness or luxury.

My husband and I have two small children, so getting away is almost impossible. We were not able to get away for the exact day of our anniversary and we both were a little disappointed. Then the weekend following our special day, a family member gave us a wonderful belated gift. She agreed to watch our boys and even give us a few dollars to go out on the town. I immediately thought of the Windjammer Inn due to it's great guest service attitude and the fact that it is one of the least expensive hotels around didn't hurt. We called and the attendant and/or manager informed me that there were rooms available and also a jacuzzi suite. She even allowed us to check in upon arrival that morning and the rest was pure bliss. A HUGE jacuzzi, wonderful service and all the ocean sound and scene we could handle. I love the Windjammer Inn and would stay here 100 times again.

My mother, daughter and I just returned from a week long vacation at the Windjammer Inn. Nothing fancy, but definately worth the money. The hotel has all ocean-front, private balcony rooms, the staff was very pleasant and the entire place has a homey feel to it. The location is very convenient to restaurants and is directly across the street from Jungleland (putt-putt, rides, games, etc), although you'd never know it beacause you never hear the noise or notice crowds at the amusement area. If you're looking for a stuffy, sterile, snooty environment, this is not the place for you, but if you're looking for a fun, casual, friendly, family-oriented place to take your family, you need to stay here. We will surely return again next year.

Hotel is run down, Needs major fixing up, Priced to high for what you get. Workers are rude blamed my kids of feeding birds, and my kids are not old enough to crawl or walk.

Our recent trip to the Windjammer was so much fun! (March 4-7th, 2004) Our room was nice, the jacuzzi tub was huge and there was plenty of hot water to fill it. The Pavillion, just 4 or 5 hotels down the road, has a lovely restraunt and marvelous chef. The Windjammer has a comfortable homey feel to it, not too polished or stiff. The woman at the front desk was helpful and gave good advice about where to have a great meal.
All the rooms are ocean front with great views of the Atlantic. The hotel is also directly across the street from a big put-put place where the kids would have lots of fun in the summer. We will definitely stay at the Windjammer again! :)
