I went to Wild Horses Lodge with my wife for her 50th birthday this weekend. Had I known what was to await us I wouldn't have stayed for just one night.
Firstly, when booking you have a variety of options to choose from to make the stay - more of an event - more memorable. From bottles of champagne, welcome baskets to massages and more. If you are in any doubt Trish is on hand to answer any queries you may have. Because it was a special celebration I chose the first 3 I mentioned.
Directions to the resort is simple, I entered Wild Horses Lodge into Google Maps and the rest was easy. The last 20 km's of the trip are on a dirt road which is most gravel. Most cars will make it although sports cars are not advised. The view while driving is quite spectacular with so many twists and turns you are totally disorientated by the time you arrive.
Trish and John Hawkins met us when we parked and John kindly took our luggage to the room. The whole place exudes luxurious, understated opulence and has been tastefully decorated.
We stayed in the luxurious Zebra Room which had a lovely view over Sterkfontein Dam - especially from the deck.
Our food was top class and the service exceptional.
My wife and I had a great time and Wild Horses Lodge made her feel extra special!!More
