Fantastic place! Astonishing views, good food and wines - and very friendly staff. A very nice bar/wine cellar and the outdoor seating is lovely. Also the pool is nice. I can really recommend this wonderful place!

We are so sorry that you did not enjoy your breakfast. The chef will be most disappointed as he takes grate pride in his meals & tries to cater for all tastes.
We hope that you will be back & that you will enjoy all your meals.

Location: Perfect for a quiet getaway, for relaxation
Room: Excellent !
Food (Chef): Supper - Excellent ! , Breakfast -Excellent !
Experience Driving to the Guest Lodge: Felt like I was the only person that mattered. Since I was driving late at night on a rainy Friday, the Lodge owner kept in touch to make sure I was safe.
Experience on Arrival: I was received with warm hands, room kept warm, dinner kept warm and for my convenience served in my room as I had requested.
The rest of the weekend: To short , I wish I could have stayed longer.

Keep up the good work, keep up the Excellent service, may God Almighty Increase you!

Room tip: They all should be the same as the one I had booked, excellent view from all sides of the lodge

What a relaxing way to spend a long weekend before our family member flew back to UK! We had booked two suites: first floor Zebra Suite for us, with an elderly family member in the ground-floor Sunrise Suite. We were warmly welcomed by Jennifer and shown all the facilities. It was our second visit to Wild Horses Lodge, and we hoped the experience would be as good as our visit in April. We were not disappointed. The food was delightful; chef Francisco explained before each meal what he had cooked for us. Two of us are vegetarian, and he produced delightful and varied alternative meals for us. We were attentively and cheerfully served by Lizzy and Francisco's wife. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and we felt very well looked after.

The suites are delightful, well and tastefully equipped, with big windows looking out over the dam. We were particularly impressed by the new patios for each suite, accessed by patio doors, providing a super sitting area overlooking the dam.

Our first day there was spent relaxing; we found it peaceful, comfortable and stress-free, sitting in the comfortable lounge terrace overlooking the dam. The second day we reluctantly declined the opportunity to accompany host John and other guests on a boat excursion on the dam, as we had planned to visit Clarens and the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, just an hour or so away.

Jennifer and all the staff, and hosts John and Trish, were most welcoming and friendly. With only four rooms, the establishment has an intimate atmosphere. Jennifer goes out of her way to provide suggestions for activities to ensure guests make the most of all the opportunities in the area.

Thank you Wild Horses Lodge for another wonderful weekend.

Room tip: Zebra and Sunrise have best lake views, but even Sunset, which has a mountain view, now has a newly-built patio allowing for lake views.

We really enjoyed our experience at Wild Horses. This was a spontaneous weekend away to celebrate our anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Jon and Trish were fantastic hosts, the staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was cosy with stunning views of the dam, the chef cooked us delicious meals everyday so we never went hungry and our last night we dined in Jon's wine cellar which was very special and romantic! Their home has been designed beautifully and the views of the Dam and the mountains are breathtaking. Will definitely be visiting them again soon!
