Los Hibiscos
We stayed here for 1 week as a last minute all inclusive deal with Jet2 Holidays. The price we paid was very reasonable so we both went there with an open mind.
What we didn’t realise was they were closing the hotel for major refurbishments and by the end of our week we were almost alone and the rooms were spooky at night .
I hope the upgrade does change some aspects of this hotel because there are issues that need addressing.
Bedrooms
Each bedroom was once a self catering apartment and when they decided to turn into a hotel they left the rooms are they were meaning you get a fridge freezer and kitchen area with a large lounge. Separate bedroom with comfortable twin beds however one thing we both didn’t like was the blankets that were in the wardrobe had stains on them.
In the wardrobe is a safe, 21 euros per week to hire with an additional 5 euro deposit.
TV remote also has a 5 euro deposit
Bathroom as other people have reported were tired but functional.
Pool Area
We all criticise people who reserve sunbeds but these are mostly Brits. They start to line up at 0830 waiting for the gates to open at 0900 then rush to reserve their beds.
But in saying that, if they hotel was full there certainly isn’t enough space for everyone.
The only bar is also at the pool area and thei is where all inclusive local drinks are handed out. You can purchase the good stuff but local is OK.
Restaurant
This is my main area for criticism. It looks as if it was constructed from some side buildings and inside the noise is horrendous with sound bouncing from walls.
The food is possibly the worst I have ever eaten with lack of seasoning. Everything that was produced was either frozen, chilled on out of a tin. No fresh vegetables ever appeared.
Breakfast displayed eggs that had been fried and left on a serving tray with cling film over them until they were needed meaning there were always rock hard and greasy. Sausages were vastly overcooked and bacon was always resting in oil.
At the weekend things did change for the better and we were told its because the chef wasn’t on duty. That’s says it all to me!
On two occasions we encountered small but very active cockroaches in the restaurant. The first time one crawled out of a hole in the wall tile but the second occasion when my wife was making toast and one crawled across the stack of bread. A waitress did see this and removed the bread immediately. By that time my wife abandoned the toast.

On the plus side, the hotel is conveniently sited up a hill and has access to the main strip in the resort. The improvements that are now taking place could make this a good hotel but a change in the kitchen is a must

Room Tip: High floor would be quieter as people slam doors at night

Agree with most reviews, but some are ott,
Food is edible but breakfast is best, always something you like on buffet and always varied, but we did eat out on beachfront.
All inclusive drinks are good and you can take them back to room, red wine nice and on tap but not strong in alcohol, limited snacks at bar.
Big basic room, clean but shower curtain has past its best.
Overall this place ok and we would return as the location is good, not sure if we would go back in high season as I can imagine not enough seats in pool area and in canteen (it's not a resteraunt).
The staff are very friendly and helpfull.
We booked with jet2 they let us down with seats on the plane on way home don't trust what they tell you.
We had a good week away from it all at this place. Gracias

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here between the 16th-22April. I'v listened to the last couple of comments complaining about the food,of which I'm struggling ro understand. I agree that sometimes food might seem limiTed but I can guarantee breakfast and dinner will meet even the fussiest needs. Every member off staff was extremely pleasant and friendly towards us,it didn't matter what our question or request was, they were only too willing to at least try and accommodate. A big plus of the hotel is the location, literally a 50 walk down the hill and your on the strip and beach. Also I insist that you try the restaurant at the bottom of the hill(don't rafeal). It's the best meal i'v had in years, but I'd advise you to book as it's very very popular. So please don't listen to any negative comments. Book up ASAP
