Big room with a lot of character and clean and comfortable beds and bathroom(s). Staffs English is basic but enough to help you out. They’re very friendly too. Breakfast choice is limited but decent. You can have your breakfast, lunch and diner at their restaurant, overlooking the river and the cathedral. Location is fantastic, it’s in a lovely street with lots of (coffee)shops and old buildings and next to the gem street an cathedral.

Yes you can hear everything in the hotel but that is what you get if staying in such an old wooden and lovely building. Yes you wake up from sunlight as there are no blinding curtains, but we actually loved that!

Definitely recommended and would go back.

There are 2 major hotels along the Chanthaburi Riverfront. Tamajun and Baan Luangrajmaitri.
Should these two fill up (I think NYE/NYD is both full), then At Rimnam would be the third alternative.
Good view of the river since the building faces the river. Tamajun on the otherhand has a land view and a river view, both of which are good.
At Rimnam is a new entrant and I'm sure teething matters will evaporate soon. Each hotel has its own culture and quirks.
But the experience staying riverfront at Chanthaburi is something not to be missed.

This sounded like a great spot, and it was a place one really wanted to like. However, unless you don't care about getting any sleep at all, this is really not a suitable place to stay. Great location, friendly staff...but non-curtained rooms, meaning you'll be awake as soon as the sun rises. From our room, we could look down below through cracks in the floorboards, meaning no sound insulation whatsoever. And because there were so many ways for the cool air to disappear, the air conditioning was basically a waste. Add to that the outside noise; the constant closing of metal blinds, and then the rising of the blinds in the morning...and the dogs, and the cats...

Sorry, but for many of us travelers sleep quality is important, and at Rimnam Chan you won't sleep a wink. Too bad!

Room Tip: There are no good rooms.

Though we may have faced a bit of a challenge with English communication, but we have been served a lovely breakfast with a beautiful view onto the river. I can only imagine how nice it must be sitting there in the evening with friends!
