The Kouros is a beautiful hotel with a minimalist feel, about 10 minutes' walk from the heart of Mykonos Town. The road into town is very dark and not really suitable for the range of vehicles using it so care is required if walking.

The hotel offers a (paid-for) transfer service from the airport (€15 per person) or port (€10 pp) - their driver is super-friendly and reliable. There is also a complimentary shuttle service into town.

All the staff we encountered were very polite, particularly at breakfast time. The breakfast buffet was very much a highlight of our visit - one of the best we've experienced, with a broad range of food options, plus special dishes available to order.

We loved our room, with its huge terrace. The only negative was the bathroom which had very poor lighting and lacked a proper shower.

Overall, this was a very nice hotel.

WOW - the hotel is an absolute gem! It has a minimalistic design throughout and has a very calm and welcoming atmosphere. We were upgraded to stay in a deluxe suite room with a private balcony looking out to the sea and other nearby islands. It was huge! The furnishings are soft and minimal. Plenty of storage, a modern bathroom with jacuzzi and shower. Rooms are cleaned twice a day.

Everyone who works here has a happy attitude - very friendly, helpful, always smiling and very warm towards their guests. The people who work here understand attention to detail, and what it means to provide a high standard of service for their guests.

The hotel is located 10 min walk from Mykonos town (for shopping, restaurants, bars, little Venice etc.) and is ideally placed away from the bustle of the town. There is a complimentary hotel taxi service if you don't fancy the walk to/back from town. The pool area has amazing views of the sea with a bar. Breakfast was a culinary delight - a wide variety of choice to suit all dietary requirements - plenty of dishes to choose from (including vegetarian and vegan) and a variety of beverages Excellent spa offering many different treatments.

Overall, a gorgeous hotel filled with joy and warmth from the minute you enter it. The wonderful hotel staff contribute to this atmosphere, and we highly recommend that you choose to stay here if you choose Mykonos for your next vacation.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Agean sea

From start to finish the experience was unreal. From front of house staff to bar tenders to waiting staff the attention to detail was excellent. We decided to eat in the restaurant and I believe that it was probably the best cooked steak I have eaten, accompanied with the wine.

We researched a number of hotels on Mykonos before deciding on Kouros
The good points are the excellent friendly staff , the spacious rooms and the wonderful views from
the hotel balconies .
The breakfast was good with fruit and pastries plentiful, eggs were cooked to order.
The pool area is all with limited sun beds but as many guests are out for most of the day it seems to work
We found drinks at the hotel quite expensive but this applies to the whole of Mykonos
The hotel is a short walk from
Mykonos Town but the roads are very dark and narrow with cars and scooters flying by so care is required . The hotel does offer a courtesy minibus to the town and this was helpful
On a couple of occasions when preferred not to walk
There are numerous restaurants in the old town but we liked Compass further up the road and Captains near the harbour for a meze
We used buses and taxis to get around the island and this worked very well
Overall Kouros is a good pick for a stay but perhaps late season when we visited in September is best as the high season will be too hot and busy
Cruise ships dock nearly every day so this makes the towns narrow lanes very busy however the passengers tend to return to the ships around 7pm each evening so we decided to eat later and we always found a suitable restaurant around 8pm to 9pm
The hotel is most suited to couples looking for a romantic break
