"Vaut le détour" is a common French saying, taken from an iconic tourist guide, to indicate that even if it is not directly on your itinerary you should consider a little detour to go and visit. Well, this wonderful country-restaurant fits that description and it should not surprise that, although a bit off the beaten path, this cuisine has attracted a number of honorable mentions in the gastronomic guidebooks. As you settle into the comfortable atmosphere you will hear the "carillon bells" from the nearby church. Several menus, all of them reasonably priced, will please the palate with regional produce, including game meet, venison, poultry or one of the cheeses for which this part of France is known. Service is attentive and knowledgeable and the chef is an outstanding cook. Worth the detour !
