Sorry for the late review but I have only just realised that I hadn't reviewed it after our stay.
We stayed here overnight during our tour round Northern Europe. It is a lovely building in the middle of countryside miles from anywhere. The owner? doubles up as receptionist, chef, barman and waiter and is brilliant with a wicked sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble for him.
The hotel is clean and very welcoming. Our room was a double looking out onto the front courtyard. The bed was comfortable and the room had everything you would expect.
The undoubted star though is the restaurant. We decided to treat ourselves and go for the Menu Gastronomique which was fairly expensive but well worth it. Service was understated and efficient but very friendly. During our meal a party of 40 people turned up but this did not interrupt the service in any way whatsoever.
I would recommend this hotel and restaurant. It would be a good base for touring the surrounding areas but it is a drive away from anywhere. On top of all that prices for accommodation are very reasonable.
A really lovely stay.
