Weare Bayahibe was a good choice for our winter escapade.
We spend 5 nights there. Our room with a king size bed had and average size, and whatever you can expect from a four star hotel, including a coffee machine in the room.
The hotel has a water park (good fun even at my age) a couple of pools and a great beach.
We didn't find food as people commented but we didn't expect lobster or similar.
Staff was nice and always smiling.
We never repeat places but this is a good reccomendation for families. If you expect party & shots, probably is not the right place.

Room Tip: Probably best sunset we've ever seen

We booked this trip true Sunwing.ca. On check in there where not enough beds for the family of 5 . AC did not work. On our second day there was no hot water . Third day no power or hot water. Third day same . Only one buffet that serves same food every day. Staff unfriendly.
Worst hotel/resort ever . They just don’t care at all . Not even trying to fix our issues. Talked to other guests same experience. Beach is nice but not enough beach chairs. You have to wake up early to find one . No coffee before 9 . I feel like I spent more time arguing to get basic necessities that I paid for than actually resting.
Resort and room not bad .

this is a good resort for divers with easy access to dive shop and boat to take you diving. the food is simple and not very exciting. there is pizza or pasta every night. it is smaller than Dreams or RIU resorts. the front desk help is a little cranky some times we had a 2 bd 2 bath place and enjoyed the extra space. it would have been helpful to have coffee for the coffee maker every day. bars and drinks are limited. there is a pool bar and a beach bar. there is a snack bar that was over run with teen agers every day from 3-4 so we did not eat there. they could not seem to grasp that they should get some diet coke for rum and diet coke. great cappuccinos at bar and good coffee every day. service was slow and had to request items like a hair dryer or coffee for coffee make several times.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the pool if you like it quiet

Just spent 2 weeks here and absolutely loved this place and it's people !

It is a smaller resort which is what we look for when travelling as we don't enjoy crowded places.
- Never a problem to find loungers or shaded hut @ beach or shade and loungers around pools.
- Food was excellent, at least one choice of each - beef, chicken, pork and fish at lunch and supper. Also soups, pizza and pasta and several different delicious deserts and always a good selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Breakfasts- bacon, ham, sausages,- freshly squeezed juices usually 2 or 3 types,- eggs done to your liking and same with omelettes you pick what and how much you want in them and they cook them in front of you. Several choices of breads and buns @ all meals . Special Thank You to Roberto Rodriquez (Chef Manager) very friendly man and always keeping close attention to the way food was being handled and cooked !
- The grounds, beach, pools and our room were always kept very clean at this beautiful little place !
- Bars were clean, well stocked and served good awesome drinks (loved the banana mamas, margaritas and beer) by our favourite bartenders Juan Francisco and Chara !
- We did 8 dives with the on site dive shop "Go Dive Bayahibe" they were "awesome"- very professional, friendly and we felt safer with them then any one we have dived with before ! Thank You Mark (owner/dive master), and Keigo (boat/captain) .

We loved this place and its wonderful friendly people, sorry we can't mention all their names wasn't one we did not like !

We booked this resort with Sunwing because we were looking for a small resort and not an 800 plus hotel. There were three of us women and we had booked a 2-bedroom suite.

We had an issue with the first apartment but the next day, when we went to meet Alberto, our Sunwing rep and also spoke to Yasony at the front desk, we were given keys to check out 3 different apartments and we found one that satisfied us all.

I always make it a point of meeting the housekeeping staff and leave a few $$ the first few days and our apartment was supplied with everything we needed and more. Thank you Olga, Candida and Mariela.

Thank you to Guido, the maintenance man who tried to resolve our problems with the 1st apartment. Whenever I would see him at the resort, I always made sure to say hello.

One of the activity persons, Jarolin, adopted me and would always come to speak with me during our trip. Good thing I was able to communicate a bit in Spanish. Thank you as well to Ramon, Chiken and DJ and Fernando, you guys kept me laughing the whole trip. You work very hard from morning until late at night to ensure that everyone has things to do at the beach and the entertainment at night.

Thank you to Luz in the gift shop for picking something up for me in La Romana.

To Celestino, wish you could be my Canadian cappuccino man. Carlos and Alexande at the beach bar as well. It was my favourite spot to be when not at the pool bar.

The food was at times the same, except for a few varieties of salads, but we did not starve. There was always chicken, fish and beef or pork and great wood fired oven pizzas, at least 5 to 6 varieties.

The morning omelets were made fresh as well as eggs any way you wanted. Lots of fresh fruit, fresh smoothie juices and lots of bread.

The snack bar also had snacks and were open until 11 p.m. thank you Gregori.

We knew everything shut down at 11 p.m. and we were okay with that as we never stayed up late.

The Internet was slow at times but we still could use it for free from the balcony.

The beach was kept very clean and raked daily. The deck chairs were always available. Loved the pier and how you could walk down the stairs to get to a sandy bottom and feed the fish and snorkel.

I would return here, but unfortunately, I always like to try other islands when travelling.

Overall, we wanted sun and to get away from the winter, and this place delivered, despite a few quick rain showers.

There are others who were helpful, but unfortunately, I did not get their names or forget them right now.

If you go here, please be pleasant and learn a few words of Spanish. It is always appreciated and the thought that you are trying means a lot to the staff.

Be sure to visit the caves next door. Definitely worth the $5 entrance fee but get ready to walk an hour to get there and an hour back, but you can walk on the beach on the way back.

There is also a Webcam of the Dominicus Beach that we stopped and waved when walking in front of it.

We had no issues with the air conditioning nor the hot water in the shower. It was actually too hot at times and the pressure was just great.

Thank you to everyone at Weare Bayahibe.

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom apartment was huge for 3 ladies.
