Beautiful place. Well maintained and with a view of the surrounding country. We enjoyed our day here and had a nice lunch that was good value. BUT....why they insist on playing god awful music at full volume all day long is beyond me. The clientele aren't interested and just want to relax, sleep or if you have little children, then play in the pool.

I think every customer complained about the music volume and yet the response was just a shrug and "it's always like this".

A good place with potential if they realise that their customers don't want to be in a nightclub.

My wife's friend of a cousin's cousin (you know how it is) took us to this Sicilian country club yesterday named Le IX Porte. It is situated in the foothills of Mt Etna in the province of Catania.
What a little gem! I had the advantage of getting a local english speaking friend to give me a fascinating historical account of the regional tribute to the medieval town of Castiglione. The name translates to "The 9 Doors" originally built that gave access to this historical town. The views through the valley up to Castiglione were spectacular.
We spent the afternoon there lazy by the pool and the kids played in the landscaped garden area amongst olive's and native trees and plants. We had some light refreshments around the pool as the restaurant was not open. My wife and I have promised however to return and have dinner (without the kids) before we return to Australia. the set degustation menu looked very interesting and good value. I was really surprised to find a resort of this quality in the Sicilian countryside and would highly recommend the short trip (about 25 minutes) in from the coastal town of Giardini Naxos. Not sure about the accommodation but it appeared to have cabins set out in the extended gardens. They looked interesting. Apparently every Friday and Saturday night they have an open air Discotheque right through the Summer. If I was 20 years younger I would definitely check it out.
