“Terrific Museum!”
Review of Museum Moto Guzzi

This visit was made barely four weeks after my Guzzi was written off in a accident, but it didn't stop me (as a now ex-Guzzi owner!) from visiting this wonderful, quirky place.
Firstly, it's only open Mon - Fri from 3:00pm -4:00pm, secondly don't expect an all singing dancing museum with gift shop, cafe etc 'cos you won't get it. What you do get however, is a no frills two floor display of the complete history of the Moto Guzzi marque, including prototypes, record breakers and some superb racing motorcycles including the fabulous V8 500 and the lesser known but equally stunning in-line 4.
If you are anywhere near and only have even a passing interest in motorcycles make the effort to go, and prepare to be amazed!

Last here about 30 years ago! Museum has odd opening hours (1500 - 1600 weekdays, check website for exceptions). I had a spare day in my trip, so took the train from Milan - well worth it.

This is a real hidden gem. There is so much history in this museum, from the original 1919 model to today, with all the variations on the way and entry was free.

If you like racing, it's there. If you like military and police vehicles, it's there. If you want to see all the various models and how they came to be, it's all there.

There is a downside. The museum is only open weekdays between 3:00pm and 4:00pm and you need the full hour to enjoy it fully.

Best way to get there for us was a train to Mandello del Lario. You can see the museum front entrance from the station.

This museum is not very large, and the opening hours are hopeless, but check when it is open and go there. They exhibit one of the most amazing 500cc racers, the Moto-Guzzi V8 which was 10 to 15 years before its time, and before metals and technicals were up to it. The variety of items are good, they show Guzzi's genius and why many people love Italian motorcycles. The museum is unfortunately completely closed during August.

An Amazing world of motoguzzi.

An embracing motorbike's world.

For Real bikers, a trip on the Guzzi's road through out the history and facilities of an Italian Legend.
