Entering Chiapa de Corzo, tour boat guides will often connect with you to help you get to the river and into a boat tour. There are more than one tour service and more than one starting point (they may tell you differently).
Have your camera ready, use sunscreen, and tie down hats if using. And take water (they did offer us a bathroom stop at the end, near the dam).
Overall, I would return to take another tour with other people and would use this company. The scenery is spectacular and the view is one of a kind. We saw crocodiles and lots of birds. There are waterfalls and unique land creations due to water runoff. We also saw beautiful high cliffs and rich, dense jungle. We did also view some of the cut down of forest that is a huge issue of interior Chiapas and pieces of plastic trash that washed down from the hills. We were told that they are actively working to clean up the river and we did see examples of workers removing plastic trash from the river.
Overall, this is a must see for this area.
