Very good value - newly repainted

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 23 Apr 2018
Stayed here several times. Large 80s style hotel.
Slightly out of the way for those without transport but worth getting a taxi to from the bus station.

Very large newly decorated rooms. TV/Air/Shower etc....
Some of the management speak very good English.
Ample car parking
Good eateries nearby - try the Chinese run one round the corner.
Taxi to friendship bridge = 120 baht
Parking available

Unbelievable I found a very good, big & clean room with a 450 baht/night. This hotel has no breakfast service but the market is in the back of the hotel. you can experience a cheap local food with a good taste.

This hotel is a good place to stay especially for those who do not smoke. They are a lot of no smoking sign around the hotel.

Staff is always has a big smile on their face and ready to give an information to the places around the province.

I highly recommend to stay here. Not just for 450 Baht, in return is worth more than money you spent...

Very clean and quiet, equipped with basic necessities required by pit-stop travellers.

Located at the centre of Mukdahan, convenience in moving around among various tourist destinations or business spots.

It is strictly 100% No Smoking within the hotel building. The management had really fined a few petronages due to breaching of the No Smoking rules.

The manager, Pete, is so helpful and friendly. His English is very good too as he lived in the states for a while. He helped me with bank cash transfers, scooter rental, mini van booking, even flight booking, visa run and places to go out. Very accommodating man.
Hotel is good for a stop over night when doing a visa run to Laos...only 450 baht or $12 too. There is a Korean BBQ opposite so you don't have to go far for food. The main road is 100 m away behind the hotel.

You get what you see on the photos on internet. Meaning the hotel is not expensive.
BUT BE AWARE YOU DO NOT GET RIPPED OFF ON THE CHECK OUT !!!
      The facts:
At the time you check in you will have to pay a deposit for the key of your room. Nothing unusual so far but,... I had to insist to get a receipt for my deposit. I got the receipt from the guy at the check in. We checked out on July 29th at about 0730AM. While I was taking care of our bagages at the car parking, my always (to) kind girlfriend returned the key to the check out counter. The women at the check out refused to return the deposit even after showing her the receipt. Her excuse was that "we had broken the key holder". This was a straight forward lie because the key holder was already taped at the time we received the key. I showed her that it was obviously old and dirty tape that was applied some time ago but still she refused to return the deposit. When I told her that : "I would call inn the police to check her story " she immediately returned our deposit. This makes me suspect that this is a way she attempts to rip off the hotel guests to get some extra pocket money for herself. PERHAPS THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS as I am afraid that it might be that the hotel will loose a lot of potential because of this specific staff member. Our room number was 309 and we could not complain about the other hotel staff.

Room tip: As described in my review be aware of your room condition at check in because the woman at the check out can not be trusted

Very cheap hotel (we got the deal of the day in the evening before our arrival in booking.com). The employees were very helpful even when meeting us in the city center. They organized a motorbike rental and returned it for us after the ending of the 24h-contract. The hotel is a bit "far" from the mekong river, about 1,5/2km. But the service is worth it. We can highly recommend it. Thank you kieng piman-Team!
